LOWELL, Mass.-- Both Stonehill outdoor track and field teams posted top four performances at the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championships held at UMass Lowell's Cushing Track Saturday afternoon, as the Skyhawk men finished third with a score of 119 points while the women were fourth overall with a team score of 81 points. Southern Connecticut took both team titles in the competition, with UMass Lowell finishing as the runner-up on both sides.

Freshman Tom Kilby (Fall River, Mass.) earned the conference individual champion in the javelin on the men's side for Stonehill with a mark of 177 feet in the event, while senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) finished third in both the 100 (11.10) and 200 (22.20) meters. The Skyhawks received second place finishes from seniors Derek Hebert (Rockland, Mass.), Dana Burbank (North Andover, Mass.) and Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) in the 800 meters (1:55.45), 110 meter hurdles (15.58) and 400 meter hurdles (53.56), respectively; junior David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) in the 5,000 meters (15:48.92); sophomore Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Mass.) in the 10,000 meters (32:39.92) and freshman Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass.) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:51.41). Sophomore David Morse (Norwood, Mass.) finished third in the javelin with a mark of 160 feet, 11 inches, while the 4 X 400 relay team also recorded a second place performance on the day for Stonehill.

On the women's side, senior Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) finished second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.14, while freshmen Andrea Topalis (Simsbury, Conn.) and Meghan Rocha (Nashua, N.H.) placed second in the 5,000 meters (19:30.68) and discus (116 feet, 11 inches), respectively. Sophomore Kristina Coriarty (Brockton, Mass.) and senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) placed third in the 1,500 meters (4:53.06) and 3,000 meters (10:31.26), respectively, for the Skyhawks, who also received a third place finish in the 10,000 meters from sophomore Alicia Sousa (Dartmouth, Mass.) with a time of 44:34.60.

Both Stonehill squads will compete at the 2007 New England Outdoor Championships next Saturday morning on the campus of Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. beginning at 10:00 a.m.
