NEW HAVEN, Conn.-- The Stonehill women's indoor track and field team matched its best finish ever with a third place performance at the 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championships Friday evening at Southern Connecticut's Moore Fieldhouse, as the Skyhawks posted a score of 77 points to finish behind the host Owls (225.5) and runner-up UMass Lowell (166.5) while besting fourth place Bryant by 14 points.

The distance medley relay team of sophomores Kristina Coriarty (Brockton, Mass.) and Shelby Greenfield (Mansfield, Mass.), along with freshman Amanda Santacroce (Danvers, Mass.) and Bridget DeVincent (Attleboro, Mass.), took top honors in the event for Stonehill with a time of 12:58.80, while the 4 X 800 relay squad of seniors Dana DeIngenis (Cranston, R.I.) and Maura Williams (Ellington, Conn.), along with sophomores Katie Brague (Mansfield, Mass.) and Kelley Harper (Liverpool, N.Y.), posted a second place finish with a time of 9:58.44.

DeIngenis placed second in the 1,000 meters for the Skyhawks with a time of 3:00.38, while senior Kelly Chaisson (Walpole, Mass.) finished second in the mile (5:17.71) and added a fourth place performance in the 3,000 meters (10:52.87). DeVincent was third in the mile with a time of 5:20.12 for Stonehill, which also received a third place effort from sophomore Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) in the 5,000 meters (18:49.35).

The Skyhawks will compete next weekend at the 2007 All-New England Championships at Boston University, as action on both Friday and Saturday begins at 10:00 a.m.
