CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- Six Stonehill outdoor track and field records fell during competition over the weekend at the M.I.T. Invitational and at the Princeton Ellis Invitational.

On the men's side, senior Vinnie Williams (Springfield, Mass.) set a school record in the 200 meters at M.I.T. with a second place time of 21.59 in the event, as he added a second place effort in the 100 meters (10.83) and was part of a school record performance by the 4 X 400 relay team at M.I.T. as well, as he combined wth seniors Brandon Beloin (Danielson, Conn.) and Dana Burbank (North Andover, Mass.) along with junior Thomas Woods (Medfield, Mass.) to set a new mark of 3:21.83 in the event.

Beloin also set a school record in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles at M.I.T. with a time of 53.97 for the Skyhawks, while junior Russ Miranda (West Warwick, R.I.) set a new mark in the hammer throw at 157 feet, 2 inches. Sophomore Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman Tom Kilby (Fall River, Mass.) also posted third place performances in the long jump and javelin, respectively.

On the women's side at M.I.T., sophomore Jenny Gardynski (Everett, Mass.) set a school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, winning the event in her first time competing in it with a time of 12:07.17, while freshman Meghan Rocha (Nashua, N.H.) took top honors in the discus with a mark of 114 feet, 7 inches. Freshman Andrea Topalis (Simsbury, Conn.) finished second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 39:24.

At the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational, junior David Metzger (Ellington, Conn.) set a school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:57.21, while freshman Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass.) set the freshman Skyhawk men's record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:06.

Both Stonehill squads will compete at the Brown Invitational in Providence, R.I. on Sunday, April 29th beginning at 10:00 a.m.
