Solorano led three freshmen to earn two wins on Tuesday with victories at #1 singles and #2 doubles

Freshman trio all double-winners for the Skyhawks in 30th-straight NE10 regular season win

EASTON, Mass. (October 1, 2019) – Stonehill College, ranked No. 4 in the most recent Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings, dispatched Saint Anselm College 7-0 in Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis action at Charles Watt Tennis Courts this afternoon.

Freshmen Cristina Solorzano Valencia, Steffi Antao and Lauren Jaegerhuber were all double-winners in leading Stonehill to its 30th-straight NE10 regular season win dating back to October 2016. Valencia and Jaegerhuber teamed up for a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles to clinch the doubles point for the Skyhawks after Antao and senior Caroline Ray had posted a 6-0 win at No. 3.

Solorzano Valencia followed that up with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles against Saint Anselm senior Kaitlin Hughes, while Jaegerhuber posted Stonehill's first singles point with her 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles against freshman Abby Parke. Antao finished off her afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles against sophomore Emily Jacy. Freshman Lily Peter made her collegiate debut for the Skyhawks with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles against junior Parker Petruney that provided the match-clinching fourth point.

Junior Isabelle Porter and sophomore Samantha Ormesher added a doubles win for Stonehill, while senior Alexandra Vo and sophomore Emma Markaryan also notched singles wins for the Skyhawks.

Stonehill (6-0, 6-0 NE10) returns to the courts on Saturday, when it hosts Southern New Hampshire University for its Purple & White match at Watt Courts at noon. Saint Anselm (1-8, 0-7 NE10) visits Smith College for a non-conference match on Saturday at noon.
