Vo improved to 35-0 in her career in NE10 singles matches

Porter leads three double-winners for Skyhawks in 27th-straight NE10 regular season win

COLCHESTER, Vt. (September 22, 2019) – Stonehill College, ranked No. 4 in the most recent Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Regional rankings, completed a weekend sweep of its two matches with a 7-0 victory at Saint Michael's College in Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis action this afternoon.

Junior Isabelle Porter and freshmen Cristina Solorzano Valencia and Steffi Antao were all double-winners to lead Stonehill to its 27th-straight NE10 regular season win. Porter and sophomore Samantha Ormesher completed a sweep of the three doubles matches with their 6-3 win at No. 1. Porter, ranked 13th in the Oracle/ITA Division II East Region singles rankings, then provided the match-clinching point for the Skyhawks with her 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles against Saint Michael's senior Abby Ramsay.

Solorzano Valencia and senior Annelise Howick clinched the doubles point with their 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while Antao and senior Caroline Ray similarly won a shutout at No. 3. Solorzano Valencia breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles against senior Caroline Sumner, while Antao added a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles against sophomore Abby Edelmann.

Senior Alexandra Vo, ranked No. 15 in the Oracle/ITA East Region singles rankings, sophomore Emma Markaryan and freshman Laura Jaegerhuber rounded out Stonehill's singles winners in the match. Jaegerhuber claimed a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles against senior Autumn Tamlyn in her collegiate debut for the Skyhawks, while Vo improved to 35-0 in her career in NE10 singles matches with her 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles against sophomore Annie Serkes.

Stonehill (3-0, 3-0 NE10) is back in action on Wednesday, when it hosts American International College on Charles Watt Tennis Courts at 3 p.m. Saint Michael's (3-3, 2-3 NE10) visits Assumption College next Sunday, September 29, at noon.
