EASTON, Mass. (October 3, 2018) – The Stonehill College women's tennis program, ranked No. 42 in the most recent Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II national rankings, swept the Northeast-10 Conference weekly awards, the league announced.

Sophomore Isabelle Porter, ranked No. 15 in the most recent Oracle/ITA East Region singles rankings, earns NE10 Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career, after collecting NE10 Rookie of the Week accolades once as a freshman, while freshman Samantha Ormesher has been named the NE10 Rookie of the Week. Porter and Ormesher led the Skyhawks to three NE10 wins last week, each posting combined 6-0 records in singles and doubles play. It marks the second-straight week a Stonehill women's tennis student-athlete has been named NE10 Player of the Week, with Porter joining junior Alexandra Vo in receiving the weekly recognition.

Porter won all three of her matches at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for Stonehill in wins over Franklin Pierce University (7-0), Saint Anselm College (6-1) and Bentley University (7-0). She and sophomore Bethany Hammond dropped just two games over their three doubles matches last week, defeating doubles teams from Franklin Pierce (6-2), Saint Anselm (6-0) and Bentley (6-0). Porter would go on to sweep her three singles matches, rallying from a 2-4 deficit in the first set against Franklin Pierce's Alana Wyatt for a 6-4, 6-1 win, before defeating Saint Anselm's Tess Malerbi 6-0, 6-2 and Bentley's Hannah Fabianski 6-3, 6-4.

Ormesher went 3-0 at both No. 2 doubles and in singles play for Stonehill in its 3-0 week. She teamed up with Vo for three doubles wins, taking victories over Franklin Pierce (6-1), Saint Anselm (6-1) and Bentley (6-3. Ormesher followed that up with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles against Franklin Pierce's Sarah Rich on Wednesday, and then stepped up to No. 2 singles for a 6-3, 6-1 win over Kaitlin Hughes at No. 2 singles. Ormesher added a walkover win due to injury in the Skyhawks victory over Bentley on Sunday to round out her week.

Porter, who reached the quarterfinals at the USTA/ITA Division II East Regional for the second-straight year last month, is a combined 15-3 in singles and doubles play this season. She is 8-1 in her singles matches, including a 5-0 mark in the NE10, while posting a 7-2 doubles mark (5-1 NE10) with Hammond, as the duo reached the round of 16 at the ITA East Regional.

Porter earned All-NE10 first team honors at No. 3 singles as a freshman, also being named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team. She is a combined 39-14 over her career in singles and doubles play, including a combined 21-3 in the NE10. Porter has won all 13 of her NE10 singles matches in her career, while posting a 24-6 singles record overall. She is 15-8 in doubles play, including 8-3 in the NE10.

Ormesher is a combined 13-3 in singles and doubles play in her first collegiate season at Stonehill. She has posted a 6-2 singles mark, including 5-1 in the NE10, winning all four of her matches at No. 3. Ormesher has posted a 7-1 doubles record with two different playing partners, including a 4-0 record with Vo at No. 2, winning all six of her NE10 doubles matches.

Stonehill (6-0, 6-0 NE10) is next scheduled to return to action on Friday, with a non-conference match at NCAA Division I Bryant University at 2 p.m. The Skyhawks visit American International College on Saturday for an NE10 match at noon. Stonehill returns to Charles Watt Tennis Courts on Wednesday, October 10, to host Merrimack College for Senior Day at 3 p.m.
