Women's Tennis Signs Alvarez to NLI During Early Signing Period

EASTON, Mass. (November 24, 2015) - Stonehill College women's tennis head coach Marc Maloney has announced that Carolina Alvarez, a product of Freedom High School in Orlando, Florida, has signed an National Letter of Intent during the early signing period.

Alvarez is a "2 Star" player on tennisrecruiting.net, out of Freedom High School, and is currently ranked #429 nationally. She trains at the Human Performance Institute in Orlando.

Alvarez is the daughter of Dario Alvarez and Monica Restrepo of Orlando. "Carolina fell in love with Stonehill during her official visit in late September," said Maloney. "We're very excited for to join our program."

Stonehill is ranked sixth in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional rankings released last week, having completed the fall season with a 13-4 record overall, including 10-2 in Northeast-10 Conference play, before advancing to the NE-10 Championship match for the second straight year under Maloney. The Skyhawks spring schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
