Carly Batey

Carly Batey is entering her first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Stonehill women's soccer program.

Batey comes to Stonehill with experience both playing and coaching soccer at various levels. Most recently, she served as an assistant varsity coach at Norton High School in Norton, Mass. in 2013. In 2005, Batey had a one-year stint as head junior varsity coach at University City High School in San Diego, Calif. In addition, she has coached numerous age groups with Explosion FC Mass Club Soccer, including U18, U16, U15, U12, and U11. Batey currently holds Massachusetts E, F, and G Youth Soccer licenses, an NSCAA National Diploma, and is in the process of earning her US National D Coaching License.

A 2011 graduate of American Military University, Batey earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Health Science. Batey attended Polytech High School in Woodside, Del., and trained with the United States Women's Soccer Olympic Development Program in 1997. She went on to play soccer collegiately at Newberry College in Newberry, S.C., before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer in September 2000. Batey returned to college, earning All-Academic Scholar honors in 2004-05 as a member of the San Diego Mesa College women's soccer team.

Batey also began a professional boxing career in 2006. She earned All-Marine boxing honors and was nationally ranked by USA Boxing in 2003.
