EASTON, Massachusetts (November 18, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team has been seeded fourth for the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament's East Regional as the program officially earned its third NCAA Tournament bid in program history the national committee announced tonight.

Stonehill (11-4-4, 8-1-4 NE10) will travel to face fifth-seeded Jefferson University (15-5-0, 11-1-0 CACC), who was the CACC Champion in a first round match on Friday, November 22, hosted by the Northeast-10 Conference Champion the College of Saint Rose at 3 p.m. at Plumeri Sports Complex. The winner of Friday's first round matchup will advance to Sunday's second round to face the winner of the eighth-seeded Daemen College (11-3-3, 4-2-2 ECC) versus the top-seeded Golden Knights (17-2-1, 10-2-1 NE10) which will play following the Skyhawks' game at 6 p.m.

Stonehill will make its third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years this week after playing in its 11th NE10 Tournament. The Skyhawks opened the season with a 4-0-0 record with four-straight shutouts, and wrapped up the season with seven-straight victories, the most since the 1999 team that went 17-4. Stonehill also totaled eight shutouts this season, its most since the 2016 team that combined for 10 that made the program's first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Alex Wilson has led the charge of the Skyhawks for seven seasons as she has guided the program to its third NE10 Championship in 2016 and all three NCAA Tournament bids in the past four years. She most recently was named the 2019 NE10 Coach of the Year and this is her second honor, as she received the award in 2016.

The NCAA East Regional's second bracket will be hosted by Mercy College (13-3-2, 5-1-2 ECC), the ECC Champion. The Mavericks will host the seventh-seeded Southern New Hampshire University (10-6-1, 7-5-1 NE10) in a 1 p.m. matchup, while the third-seeded Molloy College (14-4-2, 5-3-0 ECC) will battle the sixth-seeded Bentley University (10-7-2, 7-5-1 NE10) at 10 a.m. in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

The remaining two teams from this weekend's regional brackets will square off on either Thursday, December 5 or Friday, December 6 for the regional final. The East and Atlantic Region champions will meet for a sweet 16 matchup. The winner of that game will move on to the semifinals on November 29, followed by the Championship on December 12 at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
