CoSIDA Announces 2019 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams

EASTON, Mass. (November 12, 2019) – Stonehill College senior Emily Rosano has been named to the NCAA Division II 2019 Academic All-District® 1 first team, selected the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced last week.

The senior from Cohasset, Massachusetts is just the seventh women's soccer student-athlete in Stonehill history to earn Academic All-District® 1 first team honors, as Elizabeth Belanger '13 was recognized twice in her career. Rosano is the first Skyhawk to earn the recognition since Sara Nagle '13 in 2011 and is one of seven that were recognized this year from the Northeast-10 Conference out of the 13 receiving the award from CoSIDA.

The Academic All-District® teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Honorees selected first team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Rosano, who has earned a 3.69 cumulative grade point average while majoring in accounting and minoring in criminology, has been named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll with Academic Distinction and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. She has also been named to the Dean's List five semesters to date. Last year as a junior, Rosano earned the Division II Athletic Director's Association Academic Achievement Award.

On the pitch, Rosano has started and appeared in all 19 games this season, while playing in 63 games and starting in 57 over her four-year career. The senior right back has tallied two assists in her career, one in her junior year against Le Moyne College and one her sophomore year against Southern Connecticut State College.

She has been a key member of the Skyhawk's defensive line that has averaged 0.95 goals against this year with 19 goals allowed. In her four years, this is the second best average, as 2016 the team combined for a 0.85 goals against average and 19 goals allowed. Over her four years in the Purple & White, Rosano has assisted the team to two NCAA Tournament bids, including an automatic qualifying bid in 2016 following the Skyhawks' third NE10 Championship in program history.

Outside the classroom, Rosano has been a writer for Her Campus since her junior year.

The Skyhawks with an overall mark of 11-4-4 and 8-1-4 in the NE10 awaits word on a potential NCAA bid when the pairings are announced at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18 via webstream on NCAA.com.
