Nasuti nets first career and game-winning goal

QUEENS, New York (September 11, 2019) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team earned its second-straight come-from-behind win with a 2-1 victory against non-conference foe Queens (N.Y.) College Wednesday afternoon on Knights Field.
Stonehill's (2-1) junior Kayla Henry and sophomore Jenna Nasuti scored late in the second half to put the Skyhawks past the Knights, as sophomore Megan Giambanco recorded her first-career assist.
The Knights acted first in the 24th minute, as Victoria Ramirez knocked in a goal with help from Sarafina Smith at 23:37, 1-0. The Skyhawks continued to put pressure on the Knights as they just outshot them in the first half, 6-5.
Stonehill once again outshot Queens in the second half, 5-2, as they held possession for most of the half. Late in the half, the Knights were called for a foul, and at 77:01 Henry lifted in her first goal of the season and 10th goal of her career. Five minutes later, Giambanco sent a corner kick in front of the net, where Nasuti was able to slide in her first-career goal and first-career game-winning goal at 82:01, 2-1. Queens had one more chance in the half, but they were called offsides in the 86th minute, as Stonehill won its second-straight come-from-behind victory.
Stonehill wraps up its four-game road slate with its first Northeast-10 Conference matchup against the University of New Haven on Saturday, September 14 with a start time of 1:00 p.m.
