Four seniors placed on NSCAA Division II All-East Region Teams
2016 NSCAA NCAA Division II Women's All-East Region Teams
EASTON, Mass. (December 1, 2016) – Seniors Jamie Block (Georgetown, Mass./Georgetown), Brianna Duserick (Canton, Mass./Canton), Claire O'Brien (West Hartford, Conn./Hall), and Lauren Kapatoes (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) of the Stonehill College women's soccer team were named to the list of National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II All-East Region Teams, as announced by the association Wednesday.
These four seniors highlight the list of 28 honorees spread across three All-East Region teams representing Division II. Stonehill's four selections highlight the highest number representing the Northeast-10 Conference. Block garnered first team for her first honor, Duserick was tabbed on the second team for her first, O'Brien received second team for her second honor, and Kapatoes was placed on the third team for her first. Block |
Stonehill's goalkeeper Block was named to the first team after a career-best senior season with an 0.85 goals against average, 19 goals against, 99 saves, a .839 save percentage, and 10 shutouts. The Georgetown, Massachusetts native led the NE10 in shutouts this season, as she totaled 20 games with zero in the back for her career. This ranks her third in program history sitting behind Kathleen Neff with 24 from 1997-2000.
Block was most recently named to the NSCAA Division II All-East Region first team. She was also tabbed NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year prior to postseason play, as she also picked up NE10 All-Tournament honors and was tabbed on the NE10 All-Conference first team for her first time. The senior was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week twice this season and assisted the team to its first Catholic Cup Championship in program history after a 3-1 victory over Assumption and a 1-0 win over Saint Anselm and being named to the Catholic Cup All-Tournament team.
In Block's junior year, she was tabbed on the NE10 All-Conference team and NEWISA All-New England second team, while being recognized on the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for six semesters and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for two semesters.

Duserick recorded All-East Region second team honors after being part of the back line this year that held opponents to 19 goals against, while also being part of the Skyhawks' offense that has scored 39 goals in the 22 games this season. The Canton, Massachusetts native tallied one goal this year, making her career total to two with one game-winning goal, which was in a 2-1 victory over Franklin Pierce University this season. Duserick led the team with five assists this year, ranking eighth in the conference, totally six in her career.
The senior was named to the NE10 All-Tournament team after assisting Stonehill to its first Conference Championship since 1995 and the NE10 All-Conference first team after the Skyhawks recorded a fourth-place finish in the regular season. The defender also picked up Division II Conference Commissioner's Association second team honors. She was also tabbed NE10 Defensive Player of the Week for her first Conference accolade of her career. Duserick was named to the Catholic Cup All-Tournament team after tallying two helpers in the opening game against Assumption. Previously she was named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for three semesters.

O'Brien |
O'Brien collected her second NSCAA NCAA Division II All East Region accolade after concluding collegiate play recording four goals and three assists, tallying two game-winning goals. The West Hartford, Connecticut native was also part of the back line that held opponents to 19 goals this season, which includes collecting 10 shutouts in the Skyhawks' 22-game schedule this year.
This year, the defender was named to the NE10 All-Conference second team for her second time. O'Brien was previously tabbed on the NEWISA All-New England first team her junior year and the second team sophomore and freshman year. Her sophomore year also included being named on the NSCAA/Continental Tire All-East Region third team, while also recording six semesters of being placed on the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and three semesters on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

Kapatoes recorded All-East Region third team after completing her best season this year as she registered a career-best eight goals and two assists, including three game-winning goals, for 18 points. This brought her career totals to 14 goals, two assists and 30 points. Along with her best statistical season, the Hopedale, Massachusetts native recorded multiple awards this year including NE10 All-Tournament MVP after scoring the two goals in the championship game, All-Tournament Team honors, NE10 All-Conference second team honor, and Catholic Cup MVP and All-Tournament team assisting Stonehill to its first Catholic Cup title in program history.
This year, Kapatoes finished ninth in the Conference with eight goals and 12th with 18 points. As a freshman, Kapatoes, earned NE10 All-Rookie team honors and also collected NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for six semesters and Athletic Director's Honor Roll for two.
Stonehill finished fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference play with an 8-5-1 record, while concluding post season play with a 15-6-1 overall record. This mark was the best since 1999 when the squad went 17-4-1. The Skyhawks also tallied national rankings this season, matching its highest four from back in 1999. The 2016 team also recorded its first NCAA bid in program history after winning the NE10 Conference Championship against Pace University, its first title since 1995.
