Skyhawks and Setters set to face off for the second time this season

EASTON, Mass. (November 5, 2016) – The fourth-seeded Stonehill College women's soccer team hosts sixth-seeded Pace University for a 1 p.m. championship matchup on Sunday, November 6 in the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer tournament on Skyhawk Field.
Stonehill (14-5-1, 8-5-1 NE-10) is making its return to the NE-10 Tournament following a one-year absence. The Skyhawks' last appearance came in 2014, when they lost to top-seeded Assumption College, 2-1, in the quarterfinals. Stonehill is 5-3 (.625) all-time in NE-10 quarterfinal action, advancing to eight semifinals and three finals, while winning titles in 1993 and 1995. This is the first time that Stonehill has hosted a NE-10 tournament match since 1999 and second time hosting a NE-10 Championship contest since beating No. 2 Merrimack College in 1995, 2-0.
The Skyhawks have also reached national rankings six weeks out of the nine polls this season. Stonehill matched its highest ranking of four this season, the last time was in 1999.

Stonehill reached this years' semifinal match after a 2-0 victory over fifth-seeded College of Saint Rose. Courtney Campo (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) and Andrea Mancuso (Highland Hills, N.Y./Cornwall Central) recorded the goals, as Meredith Moore (Salem, Conn./East Lyme) and Caroline Colbert (Peabody, Mass./Peabody Veterans) tallied the assists, respectively.
As a team, the Skyhawks have picked up their 10th shutout of the season, continuing their most successful season since 1999 when that team finished with a 17-4-0 overall mark.The Skyhawks reached the championship game after a 1-0 victory over top-seeded and No. 12 nationally ranked Adelphi. The semifinal game was a very defensive matchup, where Stonehill's freshman Nicole Geraghty (Bridgewater, Mass./Bridgewater-Raynham Regional) recorded her third goal of the season and first game winner as she sent a right footed shot that grazed the left post before going behind the goalkeeper.
Pace (12-6-2, 7-5-2 NE-10) has seen its best season since becoming a member of the NE-10 in 1999. In the 17 seasons in the conference, the program has been involved in six quarterfinal matchups and two ECAC appearances. The Setters reached its highest NE-10 seeding of six this year, after posting a ninth-place finish last year.
The Setters reached the semifinal game in upset fashion, as Drew Ribadeneyra converted a penalty kick in the 23rd minute giving Pace the win in the Quarterfinal Round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship against third-seeded Southern Connecticut State University.
Pace enters the championship game after their ninth shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over Le Moyne College, ranked seventh in the conference. Freshman Shannon Glenn headed a cross along the goal line from senior Delany Williams past the keeper to give Pace an early 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. The Setters held the one-goal lead until the 70th minute when sophomore Victoria Kealy sent a corner kick right to senior Ashley Kenny, who headed it into the back of the net to double the lead late in the game. Senior Alyssa Zeoli put one more on the board for the Setters in the 87th minute, which was tipped by the goalkeeper, as she was set up on a long cross from sophomore Robyn Seward, leading Zeoli on a breakaway.

Senior forward Kapatoes and junior forward Moore have been the offensive catalysts this season for Stonehill, as they lead the team and are tied for 16th and tied for 19th, respectively in the NE-10 with 14 points and 13 points. Kapatoes opened up her final season as a Skyhawk with a goal and an assist in the first game of the Catholic Cup. She has recorded one three-point game and five two-point matches. Moore has posted one four-point game this season when she posted two goals against the Golden Knights.
Freshman Geraghty is third on the team with four goals and eight points, as senior midfielder Brianna Duserick (Canton, Mass./Canton) and freshman midfielder Nerger have each posted seven points this season. Duserick has tallied five assists, leading the team and fifth in the conference. Nerger had a three-point game against Saint Michael's College where she also tallied the game winner a 3-0 victory this season.
Senior forward Lydia Beiter (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) and sophomore midfielder Fernbach each follow the duo with six points each. Beiter has posted her first-career goals this year, notching three, including two game winners.

In net, senior Jamie Block (Georgetown, Mass./Georgetown) ranks tied for first in wins with 14, second in goals against average with 0.74 and in save percentage with .854, and fifth in saves with 88. The senior is also ranked 47th in the nation in save percentage. Block leads the conference with 10 shutouts, while also posting the most time in net.
Stonehill ranks in the top 70 of nine categories throughout the nation including 36th in save percentage (0.848), 49th in win-lost-tied percentage (0.711), 50th in total assists (27), 51st in goals against average (0.780) and shutout percentage (0.474), 53rd in total points (97) and in total goals (35), 63rd in assists per game (1.42), and 68th in points per game (5.11).
Pace opened up the season with an 5-2-2 record, while closing the season with a 5-4-0 mark completing their schedule with a 2-1 victory over Assumption College. Pace ranks third in the conference in goals-against average (1.068) and won-lost-tied percentage (0.632), fourth in save percentage (0.804) and shutout percentage (0.421), and sixth in total goals (30).
Alyssa Zeoli and Delany Williams lead the Setters with eight and five goals, respectively as they have also totaled 18 and 12 points, respectively. Ribadeneyra and Victoria Kealy follow with four goals apiece, as Ribadeneyra has notched five assists and Kealy three for a total of 13 and 11 points, respectively.
The duo of Aisha Chauhan and Hayley Pascoal in net have combined for 1.02 goals against average, 93 saves, 0.816 save percentage, and 21 goals against.
The Setters are ranked in the top 100 of five categories in the nation including 73rd in shutout percentage, 74th in won-lost-tied percentage, 79th in total goals, 94th in goals-against average, and 97th in total points.
