Junior Jamie Block makes four saves in net for Skyhawks

ALBANY, N.Y. (September 19, 2015) – The College of Saint Rose women's soccer team, ranked No. 9 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Poll, scored a goal in each half on its way to a 2-0 victory over Stonehill College this afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Sullivan Field.

Stonehill, which played then No. 3 ranked Saint Rose to a 1-1 draw last October, was unable to penetrate the Golden Knights defense this time around, failing to score a goal for the first time in its last four matches.

Junior goalkeeper Jamie Block (Georgetown, Massachusetts/Georgetown) turned away four shots in net for the Skyhawks, her second consecutive four-save effort.

Freshman midfielder Courtney Campo (Quincy, Massachusetts/North Quincy) recorded two of Stonehill's four shot attempts in the contest, while juniors Lauren Kapatoes (Hopedale, Masachusetts/Hopedale) and Andrea Mancuso (Highland Mills, New York/Cornwall Central) had one each.

After almost 30 minutes of scoreless action, freshman midfielder Sophia Constantine (Niskayuna, New York/Niskayuna) got the Golden Knights on the board when she knocked home a rebound from the middle of the penalty area at the 29:17 mark.

Junior forward Kristin Carr (Tolland, Connecticut/Tolland) doubled Saint Rose's advantage just over three minutes into the second half, as she scored her second of the season with the help of senior Amanda Vasquez (Tustin, California/Foothill) and sophomore Elisa Galbiati (Busnago, Italy/Schiaparelli-Gramsci).

Stonehill (2-3-1, 1-1 NE-10) and Saint Rose (5-0-1, 3-0 NE-10) will both be back in action on Tuesday night with NE-10 contests. Stonehill will look to bounce back at Southern New Hampshire University, while Saint Rose aims to keep its unbeaten record intact at home against Le Moyne College.
