Skyhawks advance to Saturday's Catholic Cup championship match with four unanswered goals

MANCHESTER, N.H. (September 5, 2014) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team rallied from an early deficit with four unanswered goals in a 4-2, season-opening victory over Assumption College this evening in a Catholic Cup semifinal contest at Grappone Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Trailing 2-1 in the 74th minute, Stonehill senior midfielder Carolyn Moodie (Littleton, Massachusetts/Littleton) found classmate Christine Moodie (Littleton, Massachusetts/Littleton) for the equalizer with a lob from the right wing. Three minutes later, sophomore forward Hannah Fay (Tolland, Connecticut/Tolland) gave the Skyhawks their first lead of the contest, as she scored her first career goal on an unassisted take through the penalty area.

Sophomore forward Lauren Kapatoes (Hopedale, Massachusetts/Hopedale) capped off the surge with Stonehill's third goal in seven minutes when she headed home a cross from junior forward Meagan Elliott (Norton, Massachusetts/Norton) in the 81st minute to put the Skyhawks up 4-2.

Starting her first collegiate game in goal, sophomore Jamie Block (Georgetown, Massachusetts/Georgetown) made a game-high nine saves. Block allowed two goals in the first half, but stopped all three shots that came her way in the second half to make Stonehill's comeback possible.

Assumption got on the board early in the contest, as junior midfielder Paige Radomski (Kingstown, Massachusetts/Silver Lake Regional) found the back of the net in the fifth minute following a cross from sophomore midfielder Emily Hill (Dedham, Massachusetts/Dedham).
