Waltham, Mass. - It was better late than never for the Skyhawks, who scored twice in the final two minutes, including the game winner with three seconds left, to erase a one goal deficit and beat the Falcons 2-1 on Tuesday in Waltham.

After a scoreless first half, Bentley struck first in the second, scoring in the 65th minute on a Cheryl Boyd penalty kick.

The Skyhawks tried to counter but were unable to, in spite of numerous shots at Bentley keeper Kara Smith.

Stonehill finally broke through at the 88:18 mark when junior Kelly Regan (Mansfield, Mass.)  headed the ball in off a Michele Norton (Abington, Mass.) corner to even the score at one a piece.

The tie score wouldn't last, as the Skyhawks regained possession and freshman Kelsey Mahoney (Rehoboth, Mass.) lofted a pass to Kirstie St. Martin (Providence R.I.) who headed the ball past Smith from five yards out for the game winning goal with just three seconds remaining.

Smith had eight saves in net for the Falcons, while senior keeper Marissa Bramwell (Norton, Mass.) had three for Stonehill.

The win snaps a four game losing streak for the Skyhawks, as they improve to 4-6-1 overall and 3-4-1 in the conference.

Stonehill returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to take on Adelphi at 1:00 pm.
