EASTON, Mass.-- Sophomore Sami Brown's (Richland, Wash.) goal with four minutes remaining in the second overtime lifted Saint Rose to a 3-2 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer victory over Stonehill Saturday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

Brown converted a pass from fellow sophomore Deanna Wachtel (Altamont, N.Y.) on the game-winner for the visiting Golden Knights (2-0, 2-0 Northeast-10), who held a 7-1 edge in shots in the extra sessions. Saint Rose, which opened its season on Thursday with a 4-0 win over third-ranked Franklin Pierce, overcame an early 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead at the break on markers by junior Lindsay Bove (Holliston, Mass.) in the 38th minute and senior Alexandra LaFite (Greenbrae, Calif.), both of which came off corners. Junior Ashley Bourne (Brockton, Mass.) evened matters for the host Skyhawks (0-1-1, 0-1-1 Northeast-10) with just over 20 minutes remaining in regulation on an unassisted tally, setting up Brown's heroics in the second overtime period.

Junior Lauren Boyd (Sandwich, Mass.) staked Stonehill, which played its second straight double overtime affair, to a 1-0 edge in the 22nd minute of play when she converted a Bourne feed for her first marker of the season, while LaFite set up Bove's goal for Saint Rose before tallying one of her own.

Freshman Shannon Murphy (Charlton, Mass.) picked up her first collegiate win in goal for Saint Rose with a pair of saves in relief of junior Lauren Steinberg (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), who made eight stops in 74-plus minutes for the visitors. Junior Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) made 11 saves in net for Stonehill in the setback as the Golden Knights outshot the Skyhawks by a slim 20-19 margin for the afternoon.

Stonehill travels to Smithfield, R.I. on Wednesday afternoon to take on Bryant in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 3:00 p.m., while Saint Rose hosts Pace in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday afternoon in Albany, N.Y. that begins at 4:15 p.m.
