EASTON, Mass.-- Junior Jenna Giardina (Pittsfield, Mass.) netted a pair of goals, while fellow junior Gabriela Demoner (Curitiba, Brazil) added a goal and three assists to lead Franklin Pierce to a 5-1 Northeast-10 Conference women's soccer victory over Stonehill Wednesday afternoon at Skyhawk Field.

The visiting Ravens (5-2, 4-2 Northeast-10) took a 2-0 lead at the break on a pair of first half markers from junior Taryn Welker (Wayne, Pa.) and freshman Rachel Smith (Carlisle, Pa.) in the 32nd and 37th minutes, respectively, but the host Skyhawks (3-2-2, 2-2-2 Northeast-10) sliced their deficit in half just 23 seconds into the second half when sophomore Janine Connors (Holliston, Mass.) converted passes from junior Ashley Bourne (Brockton, Mass.) and freshman Kelly Regan (Mansfield, Mass.). Giardina then netted a pair of tallies in the 55th and 63rd minutes, respectively, to stake Franklin Pierce to a 4-1 lead, and Demoner's goal on a Welker feed in the 66th minute closed out the scoring.

Smith and freshman Mackenzie Bulych (Regina, Sask.) added assists in the win for Franklin Pierce, as junior Jenna Mello (Londonderry, N.H.) made seven saves in goal to pick up the triumph for the Ravens. Junior Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) made five stops in net on the day for Stonehill, as Franklin Pierce outshot the Skyhawks by a 14-11 margin for the contest.

Stonehill hosts Southern Connecticut in a Northeast-10 outing on Saturday afternoon at Skyhawk Field beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Franklin Pierce heads to Pleasantville, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon to take on Pace in a Northeast-10 match at 2:00.
