SYRACUSE, N.Y.-- Sophomore Lauren Boyd (Sandwich, Mass.) scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 1:41 remaining, to lift Stonehill to a 2-1 Northeast-10 Conference women’s soccer victory over LeMoyne Saturday afternoon at the Niland Complex.

Boyd’s tally in the waning minutes enabled the visiting Skyhawks (3-0-1, 1-0-1 Northeast-10) to remain unbeaten and continue their best start in four seasons, as she gave Stonehill a 1-0 lead just 6:07 into the match with an unassisted marker. The host Dolphins (3-1, 1-1 Northeast-10) evened matters in the 56th minute when sophomore Jackie Rossi (Phoenix, N.Y.) converted a feed from senior Jill Cain (Farmington, N.Y.), and the score remained tied until Boyd’s fifth goal of the season won the match for the visitors.

Sophomore Alex Eckhardt (Marshfield, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Stonehill with a pair of saves on the afternoon, while sophomore Jessica Cochol (Canandaigua, N.Y.) made one stop in net for LeMoyne as the Dolphins outshot the Skyhawks by an 8-5 margin for the contest.

Stonehill travels to Albany, N.Y. on Tuesday afternoon for a Northeast-10 outing with Saint Rose that begins at 4:30 p.m., while LeMoyne hosts UMass Lowell in a Northeast-10 match on Wednesday afternoon at the Niland Complex at 4:00 p.m.
