#1 Le Moyne Runs Past Women's Lacrosse, 19-2

Fazio's eight points lead Dolphins to first NE10 win

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (March 16, 2019) – Le Moyne College, ranked No. 1 in this week's Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II poll, raced out to a 14-0 halftime lead and didn't look back in posting a 19-2 triumph over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse action at Ted Grant Field this afternoon.

Senior Bryanna Fazio paced Le Moyne with three goals and five assists for eight points, while collecting seven draw controls and two ground balls. Junior Julia Sardella added five points with four goals and an assist, while senior Monica Sanna and junior Nicole Delaney  each potted three goals. Sanna also totaled four draws and a caused turnover and sophomore Lauren Ferris dished out three assists.

Junior Hannah George made one save over the first 39 minutes in goal for Le Moyne, while sophomore Emily Baldwin registered four stops in the final 20 minutes. Junior Bailey Grant made four first half saves for Stonehill, while sophomore Kaleigh Wright chipped in a save in the second half.

Junior Jill McIntire and sophomore Olivia Pino each scored goals for Stonehill. Junior Kaity Healey finished with five draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover.

Le Moyne led 14-0 at the half and scored the first 15 goals of the contest overall. The Dolphins grabbed control with four goals in the opening ten minutes of the game, with Fazio and Sanna each netting a pair. Le Moyne broke the game open with six goals over the next six minutes, led by three goals by Sardella, while Fazio set up the last three goals of the run, for a 10-0 lead with 15-minutes left in the half. Delaney added two goals for the Dolphins, while Sardella had a goal and assist in the four goal run to close out the half.

Pino netted Stonehill's first goal less than six minutes into the second half, and then McIntire added her first career goal with 19:31 left in the game. Le Moyne closed the game out from there with three goals in the final 16:11.

Stonehill (4-2, 1-2 NE10) returns to action next Saturday, March 23, to host rival and No. 23 Bentley University for their Purple & White Game at W.B. Mason Stadium at noon. Le Moyne (5-0, 1-0 NE10) hosts Franklin Pierce University on Monday at 3 p.m.
