EASTON, Mass. (May 4, 2018) – Stonehill College women's lacrosse senior captains Kelly Healey (Westwood, Massachusetts/Westwood) and Taylor Shannahan (Mendham, New Jersey/Morris Catholic) have earned All-Northeast-10 Conference second team honors, as selected by the league's 14 head coaches, the Conference announced today.
Healey earns All-NE10 second team honors for the third time in her career, having also been named as a freshman and sophomore. Shannahan collects All-NE10 honors for the second-straight year with her second team pick, after being named to the third team as a junior. She was also an All-New England honoree as a senior following a four-year career with the women's soccer program at Stonehill.
Healey, Stonehill's first freshman to earn All-America honors since 2009 when she was selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) third team in 2015, has earned All-NE10 second team honors for the third time in her career. She was also an NE10 All-Rookie Team pick her freshman year and an IWLCA All-North Region honoree. Healey has also been named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll all seven semesters at the College, to date, for her work in the classroom.
Healey spearheaded a Stonehill defense that finished ranked sixth in the NE10 with a 12.76 goals against average. She is one of just two Skyhawks to start all 17 games this season, totaling 26 ground balls, 27 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers. Healey also chipped in with 19 goals and an assist for 20 points on the attack side, converting 10-of-13 free-position shots. She scored a career-high four goals in a 17-13 win over Southern Connecticut State University on March 22, finishing the season with multiple goals in four contests.
Healey started 70 of 73 games over her Stonehill career between midfield and defense, finishing with 108 draw controls, 82 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. Her career-best scoring numbers from this season boosted her career totals to 39 goals and two assists for 41 points on attack, converting 13-of-21 free-position tries. Healey, a biology major, is a member of Sigma Zeta National Honor Society and has received the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award.

Shannahan earns All-NE10 honors for the second-straight year with her spot on the second team after collecting third team honors as a junior, when she was also named to the IWLCA All-North Region third team. She enjoyed a record-breaking senior season for Stonehill, collecting a program-record 75 ground balls to lead the NE10 and surpass the previous mark of 68 by Stonehill Hall of Famer Amy Bartlett, '02 and Ann Signorella, '02 in 2001. Shannahan also ranks second in the NE10 with her team-high 40 caused turnovers, which is the sixth-highest single-season total in program history, ranking second on the team with 38 draw controls.
On attack, the Stonehill midfielder ranked second on the team with ten assists, to go with 19 goals for 29 points to rank fourth on the team in scoring. Shannahan posted multiple goals in five games this season, netting a season-high three goals three times and totaling a career-high matching four points three times, including twice over the Skyhawks last three games with three goals and an assist at Saint Michael's College on April 25 and a goal and career-best three assists in a 19-6 win over Queens (N.Y.) College to conclude the season. She opened the season with a career-high ten ground balls in a 9-8 win at American International College, adding nine caused turnovers, while snaring a career-best ten draws in a win at St. Thomas Aquinas College on April 27.
Shannahan started 56 of the 72 games she played over her four-year career with the Stonehill women's lacrosse team, also helping the women's soccer program to the 2016 NE10 Championship and first NCAA Tournament bid as a two-sport standout at the College. She tallied 56 goals and 27 assists for 83 points on attack for her career, finishing with 188 career ground balls – just one shy of the program record, while her 83 career caused turnovers rank fifth all-time. She also collected 84 draws over her career, and was named to the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll for her efforts in the classroom.
Stonehill wrapped up its 2018 season with an 8-9 record overall, including 5-8 in the NE10.
