#4 Le Moyne Pulls Away Against #24 Women's Lacrosse, 12-3

Dolphins outscore hosts 8-1 in the second half

EASTON, Mass. (March 17, 2018) – Le Moyne College, ranked No. 4 in both Division II national polls, outscored Stonehill College, ranked 24th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), 8-1 in the second half to break open a 4-2 halftime lead and claim a 12-3 victory in Northeast-10 Conference women's lacrosse action this evening.

Junior Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, New York/General Brown) led Le Moyne with four goals and an assist for five points, while collecting nine draw controls, and two ground balls. Sophomore Sidney Hall (Adams Center, New York/South Jefferson) added three points with two goals and an assist, while senior Monica Sanna (Pittsford, New York/Pittsford) and freshman Erin McMullen (Syracuse, New York/Westhill) each chipped in with a pair of goals.

Sophomore Hannah George (Johnson City, New York/Maine-Endwell) held Stonehill to just three goals with eight saves in the Le Moyne goal. Sophomore Bailey Grant (Chelmsford, Massachusetts/Chelmsford) finished with a career-high 14 saves in the Skyhawks net, including eight in the second half.

Senior Taylor Shannahan (Mendham, New Jersey/Morris Catholic), junior Linna Jalinskas (Farmington, Connecticut/Farmington) and sophomore MacKenzie Pleshaw (Franklin, Massachusetts/Franklin) each netted goals for Stonehill.

Le Moyne emerged from a low-scoring first half with a 4-2 edge after Sanna's first goal of the game on a free-position attempt with 6:18 remaining in the frame. The Dolphins scored the first five goals of the second half to pull away. Junior Morgan Pritchard (Syracuse, New York/West Genesee) opened the second half scoring with a free-position goal 43-seconds in. Le Moyne got goals from five different players during the run, while Fazio had a goal and assist.

Shannahan broke up the run with her sixth goal of the season, assisted by senior Brianna Doherty (Walpole, Massachusetts/Walpole), with 10:44 remaining, but Stonehill would not get any closer. Le Moyne scored the final three goals of the game, including a pair from Fazio to seal the win.

Stonehill (3-2, 2-2 NE10) hosts Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday at 7 p.m. Le Moyne (5-0, 10 NE10) visits Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday at noon.
