Lynott earns second team honors from IWLCA, Galligan and Moore second team choices from womenslacrosse.com, while Moore also earns All-Rookie status
EASTON, Mass. (June 2, 2010) – Five members of the Stonehill College women's lacrosse team, ranked sixth in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division II poll, have earned All-America honors from the IWLCA and womenslacrosse.com.
Senior defender Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) and senior midfielder Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) are both consensus All-America selections by being named to both squads. Craig earned first team All-America honors from the IWLCA for the fourth-straight season, while being named to the second team by womenslacrosse.com, and Ladino collected first team honors from womenslacrosse.com and second team recognition from the IWLCA.
Sophomore attack Samantha Lynott (Holbrook, N.Y./East Sachem) earned second team All-America honors from the IWLCA, while classmate Sarah Galligan (West Newbury, Mass./Pentucket Regional) was selected to the womenslacrosse.com second team. Freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Moore (Marlborough, Mass./St. Mark's School) also earned second team All-America status from womenslacrosse.com and was also named to its All-Rookie squad.

Craig, the 2009 NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, is just the third student-athlete in program history, first defender, to earn first team All-America honors all four years of her collegiate career from the IWLCA. She joins current head coach Katie (Lambert) Conover (2000-2003) and Erin Acone (2003-2006) as four-time first team selections. Craig started 14 of the 15 games she played for Stonehill this season and posted 26 ground balls, 31 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers. She was the leader of a defensive unit which ranks eighth nationally in Division II with an 8.97 team goals against average and fourth with 12.29 caused turnovers per game. The team allowed just 3.88 goals per game in the second half this year.
Craig, also a four-time first team All-North Region and All-Northeast-10 selection, has appeared in 65 career games and totaled 116 ground balls, 118 draw controls and 69 caused turnovers. She has also chipped in on offense with six goals and three assists for nine points over her career.
Craig, a two-time NE-10 All-Academic honoree, earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first team honors this spring. She was recently named an Edward E. Martin Scholar-Athlete Award winner at Stonehill and is a St. Thomas Aquinas medal recipient for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the women's lacrosse team.
Ladino caps her career at Stonehill by earning first team All-America honors in both lacrosse and field hockey during her senior year. A two-time All-American for field hockey at Stonehill, she earns her first All-America honors for lacrosse after also collecting first team All-Region and All-Conference accolades this spring for the first time as well. Ladino started all 17 games this season and totaled 26 goals and 14 assists for 40 points, with one game-winning goal, 45 ground balls, a team-best 52 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. Ladino ranks fourth among NE-10 leaders with 13 free-position goals.
Ladino played 66 games over her career with the lacrosse team, totaling 92 goals and 34 assists for 126 career points, also adding three game-winners, 123 ground balls, 123 draw controls and 72 caused turnovers. She was also an Edward E. Martin Scholar-Athlete Award winner and an NE-10 Woman of the Year nominee.
Lynott, who earns her first All-America selection with her second team IWLCA honor, enjoyed a breakout sophomore season for Stonehill. She ranks second on the team with 67 points (13th NE-10) and 22 assists (9th) to go with 45 goals (12th), leading the team with four game-winning goals (3rd), while adding 42 ground balls, 31 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. Her 17 free-position goals lead the NE-10.
Lynott, who earned first team All-North Region and second team All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time this season as well, has appeared in 33 games over her two seasons at Stonehill, totaling 60 goals and 27 assists for 87 points, adding 49 ground balls, 38 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.
Galligan, also a first time All-America selection with her second team honor from womenslacrosse.com, was another breakout performer for the Skyhawks in her sophomore season, emerging as one of the top scorers in the NE-10. She ranks in the top ten among Conference leaders with her team-best 76 points (7th) on 51 goals (5th) and 25 assists (8th), having started all 17 games for the Skyhawks. Galligan also leads the team with 61 ground balls (5th NE-10) to go with 13 draw controls, 27 caused turnovers and three game-winning goals (6th).
In two seasons at Stonehill, Galligan has played 32 games and totaled 67 goals and 27 assists for 94 points, adding four game-winning goals, 77 ground balls, 18 draw controls and 36 caused turnovers. She earned first team All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time this season and was also named NE-10 Player of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks for the Skyhawks in early April.
Moore collects her first All-America selection with second team honors from womenlacrosse.com while also being named to the website's All-Rookie squad. A second team All-Region and All-NE-10 pick, Moore had a strong freshman season in the Stonehill goal, playing all but 50:49 in the net. She ranks sixth among NCAA II leaders with her 9.01 goals against average and .508 save percentage, averaging 8.88 saves per game in 972-minutes, 11-seconds played.
Moore, an NE-10 All-Rookie team selection, was named to the NE-10 All-Championship team after averaging 19 saves per game in Stonehill's two Tournament matches, including a season-high 20 in the Skyhawks 15-8 semifinal win over 9th-ranked Merrimack College. She earned NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors once this season and Freshman of the Week twice.
Stonehill (13-4, 10-1 NE-10) earned its sixth NCAA Tournament bid in program history and first since 2007. The third-seeded Skyhawks fell to eventual National Champions Adelphi University in the opening round.
