Five Voted to IWLCA All-North Region Squads

Craig, Ladino and Lynott earn first team All-Region honors

Kerwin and Moore voted to All-Region second team

EASTON, Mass. (May 26, 2010) – Five members of the Stonehill College women's lacrosse team, ranked sixth in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division II poll, have earned IWLCA Division II All-North Region honors.

Senior defender Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point), senior midfielder Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) and sophomore attack Samantha Lynott (Holbrook, N.Y./East Sachem) were all voted to the All-North Region first team, while junior defender Emily Kerwin (Bristol, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey) and freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Moore (Marlborough, Mass./St. Mark's School) were both selected to the All-Region second team.

Craig, the 2009 NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, earns All-North Region honors for the fourth-straight year to conclude her career as among the finest defenders in program history. She started 14 of the 15 games she played for Stonehill this season and posted 26 ground balls, 31 draw controls and 14 caused turnovers. She was the leader of a defensive unit which ranks eighth nationally in Division II with an 8.97 team goals against average and fourth with 12.29 caused turnovers per game. The team allowed just 3.88 goals per game in the second half this year.

Craig, a three-time first team All-American and four-time All-Northeast-10 selection, has appeared in 65 career games and totaled 116 ground balls, 118 draw controls and 69 caused turnovers. She has also chipped in on offense with six goals and three assists for nine points over her career.

Craig, a two-time NE-10 All-Academic honoree, was recently named an Edward E. Martin Scholar-Athlete Award winner at Stonehill. She is also a St. Thomas Aquinas medal recipient for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the women's lacrosse team.

Ladino, a two-time All-American for field hockey at Stonehill, earns All-Region honors for lacrosse for the first time with her first team selection. She started all 17 games in her senior year and has totaled 26 goals and 14 assists for 40 points, with one game-winning goal, 45 ground balls, a team-best 52 draw controls and 17 caused turnovers. Ladino ranks fourth among NE-10 leaders with 13 free-position goals.

Ladino has played 66 games over her career with the lacrosse team, totaling 92 goals and 34 assists for 126 career points, also adding three game-winners, 123 ground balls, 123 draw controls and 72 caused turnovers. She has earned first team All-Northeast-10 honors this year in both field hockey and lacrosse and was also an Edward E. Martin Scholar-Athlete Award winner and an NE-10 Woman of the Year nominee.

Lynott, who also earns All-North Region honors for the first time with her first team selection, enjoyed a breakout sophomore season for Stonehill. She ranks second on the team with 67 points (13th NE-10) and 22 assists (9th) to go with 45 goals (12th), leading the team with four game-winning goals (3rd), while adding 42 ground balls, 31 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers. Her 17 free-position goals lead the NE-10.

Lynott, who earned All-Northeast-10 honors for the first time this season as well, has appeared in 33 games over her two seasons at Stonehill, totaling 60 goals and 27 assists for 87 points, adding 49 ground balls, 38 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.

Kerwin collects the first postseason award of her career with her selection to the All-North Region second team. She appeared in all 17 games for Stonehill this season, starting 14, and played a key role on a defensive unit which allowed just 3.88 second half goals per game and ranks eighth nationally in Division II with an 8.97 team goals against average and fourth with 12.29 caused turnovers per game. Kerwin totaled 30 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers and six draw controls, while also netting a goal in a win over Southern Connecticut State University this spring.

Kerwin has appeared in 44 games over her career, starting 25, and collected 57 ground balls, 30 caused turnovers and 17 draw controls with two career goals.

Moore earns a spot on the All-Region second team squad following a strong freshman season in the Stonehill goal. She has played all but 50:49 in the net for the Skyhawks, ranking sixth among NCAA II leaders with her 9.01 goals against average and .508 save percentage, averaging 8.88 saves per game in 972-minutes, 11-seconds played.

Moore, a second team All-Conference and NE-10 All-Rookie team selection, was named to the NE-10 All-Championship team after averaging 19 saves per game in Stonehill's two Tournament matches, including a season-high 20 in the Skyhawks 15-8 semifinal win over 9th-ranked Merrimack College. She earned NE-10 Goalkeeper of the Week honors once this season and Freshman of the Week twice.

Stonehill (13-4, 10-1 NE-10) earned its sixth NCAA Tournament bid in program history and first since 2007. The third-seeded Skyhawks fell to eventual National Champions Adelphi University in the opening round.
