The host Skyhawks (3-0, 1-0 Northeast-10) claimed their 59th straight conference victory dating back to April 2000 by scoring six of the first seven goals of the match and racing out to a 13-3 advantage at the break. The two teams traded three goals each in the first 18-plus minutes following intermission, as the visiting Purple Knights (1-3, 0-1 Northeast-10) closed to within 16-6 with just over 11 minutes remaining in the contest before Stonehill netted the final five tallies of the afternoon to account for the final score.

Junior All-America Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) added six goals and an assist for seven points in the win for the Skyhawks, who also received five goals and a pair of assists off the stick of sophomore Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.). Sophomore Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) chipped in with a pair of goals and two assists for four points for the hosts, who also received a pair of goals each from junior Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) and freshman Jackie Ladino (North Dartmouth, Mass.) as well as a goal and two assists from sophomore Michelle Salmon (East Islip, N.Y.). Sophomore Rebecca Cottam (Belmont, Mass.) and freshman Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y.) chipped in with assists for Stonehill, which improved to 72-1 all-time in conference action.

Junior Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) picked up the win in goal for Stonehill with a four-save effort on the day, while junior Courtney Wakem (Tiverton, R.I.) made eight stops in net for Saint Michael's as the Skyhawks outshot the Purple Knights by a 35-13 margin.
