ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.-- Sophomores Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) and Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) each notched five points as fourth-ranked Stonehill picked up its sixth victory in as many decisions on the season with a 14-8 non-league triumph over Molloy in a college women's lacrosse match Friday afternoon at Darcy Field.

Kelly netted three of her goals in the first 25-plus minutes of action for the visiting Skyhawks (6-0), who netted seven of the first eight markers of the contest en route to a 7-3 advantage at the break. Tallies by Kelly and fellow sophomore Michelle Salmon (East Islip, N.Y.) in the first 1:31 after intermission extended Stonehill's lead to 9-1, and three unanswered tallies off the sticks of senior Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.), sophomore Rebecca Cottam (Belmont, Mass.) and freshman Liza Gross (Loudonville, N.Y.) gave the visitors a 13-5 cushion with just under six minutes to play, as the host Lions (3-6) netted three of the final four goals of the match to account for the final score.

Kelly finished with four goals and an assist in the win for the Skyhawks, who received a hat trick and a pair of assists from Maloney. Hoffman added a pair of markers and an assist for three points for Stonehill, which also received two goals from Salmon as well as a goal and two helpers from Gross. Freshman Rebecca LaFlare (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) paced Molloy with four goals on the afternoon, while freshman Kerianne Stiene (Franklin Square, N.Y.) added a hat trick for the Lions, which also received a goal from sophomore Kristin Lang (Hicksville, N.Y.) as well as two assists off the stick of sophomore Erin Brady (Long Beach, N.Y.).

Junior Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) picked up the win in goal for Stonehill with six saves, while sophomores Alicia Frisch (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Carmen Sanfilippo (Hicksville, N.Y.) combined for 14 stops in net for Molloy as the Skyhawks outshot the Lions by a 35-18 margin in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
