Darrell, Kelly And Craig Earn Spots On IWLCA/US Lacrosse First Team Division II Women's Lacrosse All-America Squad, Gramzow Tabbed For Second Team Honors

Easton, Mass.-- Four members of the Stonehill College women's lacrosse team were named on Tuesday afternoon to the 2007 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/US Lacrosse Division II All-America squads for their efforts this spring. The quartet will be honored during the IWLCA Awards Banquet in King of Prussia, Pa. on June 16th.

Heading the list of Skyhawk first team honorees is 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip), as the junior midfielder netted 61 goals and 23 assists for 84 points in 18 matches before suffering a season-ending injury in the league tournament. Darrell is the seventh two-time All-America selection in school history and became the fourth Stonehill individual to earn Northeast-10 Player of the Year accolades, as a Skyhawk has captured eight of the nine awards handed out in the conference's history.

Sophomore midfielder Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J./West Morris Mendham), the 2007 Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Year, earned first team All-America honors as well after netting 60 goals and 29 assists for a team-best 89 points in 20 contests. Kelly, the Most Valuable Player of the 2007 Northeast-10 Championships, also led the team in draw controls (45) and caused turnovers (24) while collecting 34 ground balls. Freshman Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) rounded out the Stonehill trio of first team All-America picks, as she notched four goals and five total points while collecting 31 ground balls, 24 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers for a defensive unit that allowed just 6.60 goals per contest this spring.

Sophomore Kristyn Gramzow (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) earned second team All-America accolades in her first varsity season for Stonehill, as the first-team all-Northeast-10 selection netted four goals and four assists for eight points while adding 24 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.

Two-time national champions Stonehill, C.W. Post and Adelphi led the way with four All-America selections combined on the 2007 squad, as a total of 17 individuals have earned a combined 31 All-America citations during Head Coach Michael Daly's nine-year tenure in Easton. The Skyhawks finished the 2007 campaign with an overall mark of 18-2, including a perfect 10-0 slate in Northeast-10 play that featured Stonehill's ninth straight league regular season crown and eighth consecutive conference tournament title. The Skyhawks earned their fifth berth in the NCAA Division II Championships, falling to eventual national champion C.W. Post in the national semi-finals on May 12th in Salem, Va.
