WEST CHESTER, Pa.-- Senior Katelyn Martin (Downingtown, Pa.) netted a pair of goals and four assists for six points as fourth-ranked West Chester overcame a three-goal halftime deficit to post a 10-9 non-league college women's lacrosse victory over third-ranked Stonehill Thursday afternoon at South Campus Field.

The host Golden Rams (14-2) netted eight goals over the final 30 minutes of action in a re-match of last year's NCAA Division II national championship match on the same field won by Stonehill, as the visiting Skyhawks (14-2) built a 5-2 lead at the break before West Chester began its comeback. Martin's six-point effort enabled her to move past former Stonehill standout Katie Lambert into fourth place on the Division II career scoring list with 330 points, as junior Christine Kane (Oreland, Pa.) added a hat trick and an assist for the winners, who also received a hat trick off the stick of sophomore Stephanie Kienle (West Chester, Pa.). Senior Molly Halberstadt (Lansdale, Pa.) and freshman Mandy Masoner (West Chester, Pa.) netted single tallies for West Chester, which also received an assist from senior Christa Somits (West Chester, Pa.).

Sophomore All-America Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) notched a hat trick in the setback for Stonehill, which was unable to convert a free position attempt with 32 seconds remaining that would have sent the contest into overtime. Senior All-Americas Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) and Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) chipped in with two goals each for the Skyhawks, who also received a goal each from freshmen Michelle Kelly (Mendham, N.J.) and Mary Maloney (Great River, N.Y.) as well as an assist from sophomore Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.).

Senior Chelsea Marshall (Media, Pa.) picked up the win in goal for West Chester with a seven-save effort, while senior All-America Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) made 15 stops in net for Stonehill as the Golden Rams outshot the Skyhawks by a 30-19 margin for the match. The win enabled West Chester to end a three-game Stonehill winning streak in the five-game series between the two teams, as the last Golden Ram victory in the series came in the 2002 NCAA Division II national championship match played at South Campus Field.

Stonehill heads to Brookville, N.Y. on Saturday morning for a key non-league showdown with top-ranked C.W. Post that begins at 11:00 a.m., while West Chester hosts Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon that begins at 1:00 p.m.
