MANCHESTER, N.H. – Junior Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) scored six goals and added two assists for eight points as top-ranked Stonehill secured its fifth straight undefeated Northeast-10 Conference regular season slate and captured its seventh consecutive league regular season championship with a 27-3 victory over Saint Anselm Saturday afternoon at Grappone Stadium.

Junior All-America Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.) netted four goals and two assists for six points for the visiting Chieftains (16-0, 10-0 Northeast-10), becoming the fourth player in school history to reach the 200 career point plateau and the third this season alone, as she joins senior teammates Colby Confer (Madison, Conn.) and Colette Carpenter (Massapequa, N.Y.) along with former Stonehill standout Katie Lambert in the exclusive club.

Freshman Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.) scored five goals on the afternoon for Stonehill, which built a 15-2 lead at the break in extending in school record winning streak to 22 straight dating back to April 2004. Freshman Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.) scored a career-high four goals and added an assist for five points, while senior Courtney Duggan (Billerica, Mass.) also recorded a five-point day, scoring two goals and assisting on three others. Sophomore Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.) netted two goals and two assists for four points for Stonehill, while Carpenter and fellow senior Brenna Newfell (North Billerica, Mass.) each recorded a goal and an assist. The Chieftains, who have won 48 straight Northeast-10 regular season matches dating back to April 2000 and are 61-1 all-time in conference play since 1999, also received goals off the sticks of junior All-America Kate Sarkissian (Sandwich, Mass.) and sophomore Emily Wetmore (Horseheads, N.Y.) in the triumph.

Sophomore Melissa Jubinville (Agawam, Mass.) accounted for all three goals with a hat trick for the host Hawks (5-9, 4-6 Northeast-10), while sophomores Lauren Glancy (Scituate, Mass.) and Jenna Marchant (Wakefield, Mass.) each recorded assists for Saint Anselm in the setback.

Junior Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) made four half saves in goal for Stonehill to earn her 14th victory of the season, while freshman Amanda McGeachey (Saco, Maine) made one stop over the final 30 minutes of action. Sophomore Sandra Landry (Canterbury, N.H.) made nine saves in 50-plus minutes of play in net for Saint Anselm, while freshman Lauren Barber (Andover, Mass.) did not record a save in the final 10 minutes for the hosts as the Chieftains outshot the Hawks by a 40-10 margin for the match.

Stonehill wraps-up regular season play on Sunday afternoon as the Chieftains host seventh-ranked Philadelphia University in a non-league showdown at Chieftain Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m. Despite Saturday’s setback, Saint Anselm clinched the sixth seed in the upcoming Northeast-10 playoffs and will take on third-seeded Bryant in quarterfinal round play of the conference tournament on Wednesday afternoon in Smithfield, R.I. beginning at 3:00 p.m.
