EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Colette Carpenter (Massapequa, N.Y.) netted six goals and added a pair of assists for an eight-point outing as third-ranked Stonehill set a school record for goals in one match by posting a 29-2 Northeast-10 Conference women’s lacrosse victory over American International Tuesday afternoon at Gorman Field.

The host Chieftains (5-0, 2-0 Northeast-10) scored the first 16 goals of the contest en route to a 17-1 lead at the break, as Stonehill collected its 40th straight Northeast-10 triumph and improved to 53-1 all-time in conference play since 1999. The Chieftains broke their previous high-water mark for goals in a match of 26 that was set on two occasions during their NCAA national championship season of 2003.

Senior Courtney Duggan (Billerica, Mass.) chipped in with five goals and two assists for seven points for the winners, who also received five goals off the stick of senior All-America Colby Confer (Madison, Conn.) as well as four goals and an assist from freshman Kristin Darrell (West Islip, N.Y.). Sophomore Tracey Hoffman (Nashua, N.H.) added a hat trick and an assist as well for Stonehill, which also received a pair of goals and two assists from junior All-America Erin Acone (Bow, N.H.). Senior Brenna Newfell (North Billerica, Mass.) and junior Jenny McGrath (Milton, Mass.) chipped in with a pair of markers each for the Chieftains, who also received two assists from senior Meaghan Carey (Hingham, Mass.) and single helpers off the sticks of sophomore Emily Wetmore (Horseheads, N.Y.) and freshman Christa LaRocco (West Islip, N.Y.).

Freshmen Caitlin Rooney (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Shannon Burke (Billerica, Mass.) each netted single goals in the setback for the visiting Yellow Jackets (0-1, 0-1 Northeast-10), who were playing their season-opening match.

Junior Lauren Stone (Guilderland, N.Y.) and sophomore Kara Conway (Winchester, Mass.) split time in goal for Stonehill, as each made one save in 30 minutes of action apiece, while freshman Jamie Anderson (North Attleboro, Mass.) made eight stops in her collegiate debut in net for American International as the Chieftains outshot the Yellow Jackets by a 44-6 margin for the match.

Stonehill heads to North Andover, Mass. on Friday afternoon to take on Merrimack in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 3:30 p.m., while American International heads to Manchester, N.H. on Saturday afternoon to take on Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 match that begins at 1:00 p.m.
