EASTON, Mass. (April 25, 2018) – Stonehill College sophomore Jennifer Kornacki (Simsbury, Connecticut/Simsbury) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week for women's golf by the league office.

Kornacki is the first Stonehill women's golfer to earn weekly honors from the NE10, doing so during the program's inaugural season. She represented the Skyhawks at two events in Western Pennsylvania over the weekend, capping the season by posting a pair of season-low scores for a 34th place finish at the Gannon University Spring Invitational, at Lake Shore Country Club, in Erie, Pennsylvania, on Sunday and Monday. Kornacki opened the event with score of 99 in Sunday's first round, carding a pair of birdies, including a 110-yard hole-out on the 347-yard, par 4, fourth hole. She followed that up by trimming another six strokes off that personal-best with a round of 93 on Monday, playing a more all-around consistent round that feature five pars. Kornacki opened the weekend by posting a score of 110 to finish 45th overall at the Mercyhurst University Invitational at Lake View Country Club in North East, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Kornacki showed steady improvement throughout her season with the Stonehill women's golf program. She finished with a season-average of 109.08 over her 12 rounds in her first collegiate season. Kornacki's season-low 93 on Monday matched the second-lowest score for a Stonehill golfer during the season. She earned a spot on the NE10 Commissioner's Honor Roll during the fall semester, and received the St. Thomas Aquinas, Patron Saint of Students, Medal for having the highest cumulative grade point average on the team at the College's recent Student-Athlete Recognition Breakfast.
