DERRYFIELD, N.H. (October 8, 2017) – Sunday's second round of the Penmen Columbus Day Invitational was cancelled due to inclement weather, shortening the event, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, on the par-71 layout at Derryfield Country Club to just Saturday's opening round.

Stonehill College freshman Katelyn Jylkka (Portland, Connecticut/East Catholic) posted a program-best 13th-place finish after carding the team's lowest round of its inaugural season on Saturday, with an 87. Her round consisted of seven pars, which tied for ninth most at the event, and she posted a 3.33 stroke average on the course's par threes, which tied for second-lowest on the holes, as she finished her round +1 on those three holes.

Sophomore Jennifer Kornacki (Simsbury, Connecticut/Simsbury) also recorded a season-low round with her score of 104, while freshman Francesca Feola (Bellingham, Massachusetts/Bellingham) posted a score of 126.

Post University won the team title with a score of 325, led by medalist Amber Thompson-Newton with a four-over par round of 75.

Stonehill wraps up its inaugural fall season next weekend at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, hosted by Franklin Pierce University, at Keene Country Club in Keene, New Hampshire, Sunday and Monday, October 15 and 16.
