Women's Golf Opens Play at First NE10 Championship

Skyhawks make debut at Conference Championship in inaugural season

HAVERHILL, Mass. (September 24, 2017) – The Stonehill College women's golf program continued its inaugural season with some more history as it made its debut appearance at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Merrimack College, at the 5,861-yard, par-72 layout at Haverhill Country Club this afternoon.

Freshman Katelyn Jylkka (Portland, Connecticut/East Catholic) led Stonehill's three individual entries with a round of 104 to sit in 33rd place after the first round. Sophomore Jennifer Kornacki (Simsbury, Connecticut/Simsbury) followed by carding a 116, while freshman Francesca Feola (Bellingham, Massachusetts/Bellingham) finished with a 136.

Franklin Pierce University leads the team championship, with a score of 310, by just one stroke over host Merrimack's 311. Camden Morrison paced Franklin Pierce with a five-under par round of 67, while Merrimack holds the next three spots in the top five, led by Krystal Knight's two-under 70.

The NE10 Championship concludes on Monday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
