Raymond and Bramanti combine for 31 points to lead Skyhawks to third-straight road win
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (November 25, 2018) – Stonehill College, ranked 22nd in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II poll, outscored LIU Post, ranked No. 5 in this week's D2SIDA East Region poll, by 18 points in the second quarter to fuel a 66-47 victory in non-conference women's basketball action at the Pratt Recreation Center this afternoon.
Freshmen Kayla Raymond and Emily Bramanti combined for 31 points to lead Stonehill to its third-straight win, all of which have come on the road. Raymond posted her second-straight 20-point outing and third of the season overall, with a game-high 21 points, including 12 in the first half, on 9-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point distance, adding five rebounds and an assist. Bramanti scored all ten of her points in the first half, including eight in the second quarter, finishing 4-of-7 from the floor, including 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, while adding three assists. The Skyhawks finished shooting 44.4-percent from the field overall, including 8-for-17 (47.1%) from deep, while limiting LIU Post to just 30% shooting, including 1-for-17 (5.9%) from beyond the arc.
Sophomore Jennifer Worden contributed eight points and eight rebounds for Stonehill, while junior Gabrielle Reuter pulled down a game and season-high ten rebounds, with seven points, two assists and two blocked shots.

Postgrad Sasha Patterson led a pair of LIU Post players in double-figures with ten points and six rebounds. Junior Robyn Francis netted 11 points off the bench, with five steals, three assists and two rebounds. Junior Mikaiya Moore chipped in seven points, three boards and two assists, while classmate Dominique Williams grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Stonehill trailed by five (16-11) after a quarter of play, with LIU Post finishing off the frame with a 9-3 run, sparked by five points from Francis, including a three-pointer. Trailing by three (18-15) after a Patterson layup a minute and a half into the second, the Skyhawks reeled off an 18-1 run to grab a 14-point lead (33-19) with a Bramanti triple with 2:14 to play in the half. Bramanti scored a second three-pointer, while Raymond and junior Grace Carter also connected from deep, to spark the run.
Patterson ended a seven-minute stretch without a field goal for LIU Post to pull the Pioneers back within ten (33-23) after a three-point play with 1:19 left before the intermission, but Raymond connected for another three-pointer at the buzzer to give Stonehill a 13-point (36-23) halftime lead.
Raymond hit a jumper and Worden buried a three-pointer to open the second half as Stonehill opened an 18-point lead (41-23) two minutes into the third quarter. The Skyhawks lead stretched to 20 (45-25) with a layup from senior Maty Diabate four minutes in, and their lead would not dip inside 14 the rest of the way. Stonehill pushed its lead to a game-high 22 on two occasions late in the fourth quarter.
Stonehill (5-1, 2-1 NE10) returns to Merkert Gymnasium on Wednesday, to host Merrimack College in NE10 play at 5:30 p.m. LIU Post (4-1, 0-0 ECC) hosts Bloomfield College on Thursday at 5 p.m.
