Martin earns All-Northeast-10 honors for second straight year
Marshall named honorable mention All-Conference selection

EASTON, Mass. (February 26, 2016) – Two members of the Stonehill College women's basketball team have collected postseason honors from the Northeast-10 Conference as selected by the league's 15 head coaches it was announced today.
Junior guard Kelly Martin (Scituate, Massachusetts/Scituate) has earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors for the second straight year with second team accolades, while senior guard Paige Marshall (Braintree, Massachusetts/Braintree) has been selected as an honorable mention All-Northeast-10 pick. Martin is the 20th student-athlete in program history to collect All-Northeast-10 honors multiple years and gives the Skyhawks 46 All-Conference selections all-time dating back to the league's first season in 1981-82.
Martin, who earned third team All-Northeast-10 honors as a sophomore, has been named to the second team this winter. She has started all 27 games this season and leads Stonehill with 15.8 points (5th NE-10), 4.1 assists (5th) and 1.3 steals per game, while also pulling down 5.6 rebounds in 34.6 minutes per contest (5th). Martin is shooting 42.6-percent from the field, including 33.1% (45-for-136) from three-point range, while converting 84.5% (93-110) of her free-throws (4th). She has led the Skyhawks in scoring 14 times and rebounding ten, posting a double-double (second career) with 23 points and ten assists in an 84-74 win over Dominican College on November 14. Martin earned Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career following the opening weekend of the season.

Martin, named to the NCAA Division II East Regional All-Tournament team last March, has played 72 games over her three year career, starting 56. She enters the postseason with 919 points (12.8 ppg), 339 rebounds (4.7/gm), 271 assists (3.8/gm) and 79 steals (1.1/gm) over her career. Martin is a 43.8-percent shooter for her career, including 35.4% (79-for-223) from three-point distance, while converting 82.2% (254-309) of her free-throws. She has earned a spot on the NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll two semesters.
Marshall earns postseason honors for the first time in her career with her honorable mention All-NE-10 selection. She has also started all 27 games this season and is averaging 12.7 points per game (12th NE-10) on 45.1-percent shooting (13th), including a team-high 38.4% (28-for-73) from three-point distance (7th), and converting 82.4% (75-91) of her free-throws (6th). Marshall, who earned Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career on December 14, has also contributed 3.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists (8th) in 31.2 minutes per game. She has led the Skyhawks in scoring ten times this season and rebounding twice.
Marshall, who has earned a spot on the NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Rolls all seven semesters at the College, became the 29th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points in Stonehill's 69-58 win over Southern New Hampshire last Saturday. She has played all 114 games over her collegiate career, starting 112 to sit just two shy of Jillian Middlemiss's '04 record for career starts, totaling 1,016 points, 362 rebounds, 277 assists and 89 steals over her four seasons. She is a 44.4-percent career shooter from the floor, including 36.3% (93-for-256) from three-point distance, and 79% shooter from the free-throw line (211-267). Marshall ranks among the top ten in program history for career free-throw (8th) and three-point percentage (9th).
Stonehill (14-13, 9-12 NE-10), the No. 5 seed from the Northeast-10's Northeast Division, is in action tonight when it opens the NE-10 Tournament with a first round matchup at Southwest No. 4 Le Moyne College (13-13, 10-10 NE-10) at 5:30 p.m. The winner advances to Sunday's quarterfinal round at Northeast Division top-seed Bentley University at 2 p.m. The Skyhawks are the only program in NE-10 history to qualify for all 35 women's basketball tournaments.
