Lynn, Massachusetts, senior forward collects All-Region honors for first time

EASTON, Mass. (March 23, 2015) – Stonehill College senior forward Tori Faieta (Lynn, Massachusetts/Saint Mary's) has been selected to the Daktronics All-East Region second team as voted by sports information directors from the region.

Faieta, who is a three-time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection after earning first team honors for the second-straight year this season, collects Daktronics All-Region honors for the first time in her career after being a unanimous All-NE-10 first team pick this winter. It marks the third straight year the Skyhawks have had a Daktronics All-Region selection after Mary Louise Dixon '14 collected back to back honors as a junior and senior, earning first team honors last season.

Faieta, who was a second team All-Northeast-10 selection her sophomore year before earning first team honors each of the last two years, started all 29 games for Stonehill this season and averaged a double-double with 15.4 points (8th NE-10) and 10.4 rebounds per game (2nd) to go with 1.9 assists and a Conference-high 2.1 blocked shots in 26.6 minutes per game. She shot 49.9-percent from the field (8th) for the year and leads the team with 15 double-doubles, having led the team in scoring 13 games and rebounding 25 times. Faieta ranks 12th nationally for defensive rebounds per game (8.0), 23rd for double-doubles, 25th for blocked shots and 32nd in rebounds per game.

Faieta, who earned Spalding NE-10 Player of the Week honors three times this season, averaged 14.7 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in Stonehill's 21 NE-10 contests, adding 1.9 assists and 2.3 blocks per game, with a .504 shooting percentage. She scored a career-high 27 points, including her 1,000th career point, in a 69-51 win over Caldwell University on November 15. Faieta was named to the All-Tournament team at the NCAA Tournament's East Regional last week after averaging 16 points and 11 rebounds in leading the Skyhawks to the regional championship game, adding three assists and 2.7 blocks per game and shooting 51.2-percent from the field.

Faieta finished her four year career at Stonehill ranked 13th in program history with 1,402 points, while her 215 career blocked shots rank second all-time and her 880 rebounds third in program history. Her 103 career games started ranks third all-time and her .497 field goal percentage fifth. Faieta's 302 rebounds this season rank second on the program's all-time single-season list (just ten shy of Susan Patchett's '97 single-season record of 312 in 1996-97), while her 10.4 rebounds per game finished just 0.1 shy of Julie Stockwell's '00 single-season mark of 10.5. Faieta's career-high matching 62 blocks this season is tied for third on the program's all-time single-season list, just 11 shy of Kelsey Simonds' 10 record of 73 in 2007-08. Faieta was named to the NE-10 All-Rookie team as a freshman and has earned NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll status five semesters and Athletic Director's Honor Roll one semester for her performance in the classroom.

Stonehill finished its 2014-15 season with a 24-5 record overall, including an 18-2 mark in the Northeast-10 to win the Northeast Division Championship. The Skyhawks, ranked 13th in the final regular season USA TODAY Sports/Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II poll, earned the 23rd NCAA bid in program history, advancing to the East Regional Championship for the eighth time in program history.
