Day 2: Galway

The Stonehill women's basketball team enjoyed a good night's sleep after a long travel day the day before and then took in a full schedule on day two in Galway. The Skyhawks did some sightseeing at  Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and had an "awesome" time. After lunch at Durty Nelly's the team conducted a clinic with a local youth club before playing its first game of the trip against the University of Limerick.

The team had a rough start and took a few minutes to become comfortable with the different court and rules. We are playing with a 24 second shot clock, eight second back-court count, and four ten minute quarters. Asia Ewing and Tori Faieta got us going offensively with some big offensive rebound put backs. The Limerick team battled throughout, but huge baskets from Mary Louise Dixon down the stretch clinched the win by a final score of 79-76.

The team conducted a clinic with a local youth club team, after which the festivities included traditional irish dance and some Cotton Eyed Joe. To see which team did which dance in the video above.
