Rousseau Earns State Farm Coaches’ All-America Honorable Mention Honors

Biddeford, Mass., native collects honorable mention honors after first selection to All-Region I squad by WBCA

EASTON, Mass. (March 23, 2011) – Stonehill College senior guard Emily Rousseau (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) has earned honorable mention selection to the State Farm Coaches' All-America squad by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). With the recognition, Rousseau also earns All-Region I honors for the first time.

Rousseau, a three time All-Northeast-10 Conference selection, earning second team honors this winter, started 17 of the 18 games she played in her senior season at Stonehill. 

She led the Skyhawks with 16.8 points per game to go with 3.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.8 minutes per game. Rousseau led the team in free-throw shooting, converting at 84.3-percent (59-70), including a streak of 35-straight early in the season. Rousseau led Stonehill in scoring 11 times this winter, netting a career-high 34 points in a 78-60 win at Molloy College on November 14. She averaged 16.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in Conference play this season.

Rousseau has scored in double-figures 15 times, including five 20-plus point outings, leading the team in assists seven times with the Skyhawks winning six of those seven outings. She is also a standout at Stonehill in the classroom, earning Capital One Academic All-District honors as a junior and senior as well as NE-10 Academic All-Conference and NE-10 Commissioner's and Athletic Director's Honor Roll honors every semester.

Rousseau has surpassed a pair of 1,000-point milestones over her collegiate career, becoming the 25th player in Stonehill history to net 1,000 points during a contest at Merrimack College on November 23. She also surpassed 1,000 points for her career during a win at Southern New Hampshire University as a junior. In 91 games played in three seasons at Stonehill, Rousseau totaled 1,176 points, 294 rebounds, 347 assists and 107 steals. Including her 23 appearances (16 starts) at Maine in 2007-08, she has totaled 1,363 points, 363 rebounds, 393 assists and 124 steals in 114 career games played. Rousseau was a two-time America East Rookie of the Week at Maine and has earned NE-10 Player of the Week honors twice since joining Stonehill. She was voted to the Daktronics All-East Region second team and earned All-Championship Team honors at the NE-10 Tournament in 2009-10.

Stonehill (17-11, 12-10 NE-10) earned its 30th-straight trip to the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament this season after finishing in a tie for seventh in the Conference standings.
