Rousseau earns third-straight All-Northeast-10 selection with second team honors

Rousseau, who earned Capital One Academic All-District I honors for the second-straight year this season, has been voted to the All-NE-10 second team for the second time in her three year career at Stonehill, having earned first team All-Conference honors as a junior. She has started 16 of the 17 games she has played in her senior season and leads the Skyhawks with 16.9 points per game to go with 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.9 minutes per game. She leads the team in free-throw shooting, converting at 84.8-percent (56-66), including a streak of 35-straight earlier in the year.
Rousseau has led Stonehill in scoring ten times this winter, scoring a career-high 34 points in a 78-60 win at Molloy College on November 14. She averaged 16.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists in Conference play this season. Rousseau has scored in double-figures 14 times, including five 20-plus point outings, leading the team in assists six times with the Skyhawks winning all six of those outings.
Rousseau has surpassed a pair of 1,000-point milestones over her collegiate career, becoming the 25th player in Stonehill history to net 1,000 points during a contest at Merrimack College on November 23. She also surpassed 1,000 points for her career during a win at Southern New Hampshire University as a junior. In 90 games played in nearly three full seasons at Stonehill, Rousseau has totaled 1,161 points, 292 rebounds, 342 assists and 103 steals. Including her 23 appearances (16 starts) at Maine in 2007-08, she has totaled 1,348 points, 361 rebounds, 388 assists and 120 steals in 113 career games played. Rousseau was a two-time America East Rookie of the Week at Maine and has earned NE-10 Player of the Week honors twice since joining Stonehill. She was voted to the Daktronics All-East Region second team and earned All-Championship Team honors at the NE-10 Tournament in 2009-10.

Dixon has enjoyed a strong freshman season for Stonehill, especially since moving into the starting lineup when Rousseau was out for a month with an injury. Dixon has played all 27 games in her first collegiate season, starting the last 14, and is averaging eight points, four rebounds, 3.1 assists and a team-best two steals in 29.9 minutes per game. Since moving into the starting lineup, she is averaging 11.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.6 steals in 35.9 minutes per game. She is shooting 75-percent (45-for-60) from the free-throw line for the season.
Dixon, who flirted with a triple double twice in the first week in the starting lineup, has led Stonehill in scoring three times, including a career-best 27 points at Franklin Pierce University on February 1. She has three double-doubles this season, including 15 points, ten rebounds and nine assists against Assumption College on January 11, and 13 points, ten assists and eight boards in a win over Adelphi University on January 22. Dixon earned NE-10 Rookie of the Week honors once this winter.
Eighth-seeded Stonehill (17-10, 12-10 NE-10) is back in action tomorrow when it opens postseason play against ninth-seeded Southern New Hampshire in the first round of the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Merkert Gymnasium at 1 p.m. Admission is $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for senior citizens and students, with students with valid college ID admitted for $1.00. The winner of that game will advance to Tuesday's quarterfinal round to face top-seeded and No. 20-ranked Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., at 7 p.m.
