During the 2013-14 academic year, the Stonehill women's track & field team captured NE-10 Indoor and Outdoor Championships, while the men's team posted runner-up finishes in both meets.

During Hart's first five years, the men's and women's cross country squads won a combined seven Northeast-10 Conference championships and six NCAA Northeast Regional titles, finishing no lower than second at either meet, and qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships every year.

Prior to Stonehill, Hart served as an assistant track and field coach at Northeastern University from 1999-2004.

Hart, who also serves as a track & field official, has directed several major events, including assisting with the 2006 NCAA Division II Championships and the first-ever track and field event hosted by Stonehill College in April of 2008. He also served on the NCAA Track & Field Committee from 2010 through 2014.

In addition to his coaching experience, Hart taught high school English, history and theology at Boston-area schools from 1981-2007.

A 1981 graduate of the University of Connecticut, he and his wife Rose reside in Norwood with their two children.
