EASTON, Mass. (February 28, 2018) – Stonehill College men's track and field 4000-meter distance medley relay team have been officially accepted to compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University and Crawford Country Convention and Visitors Bureau, in Pittsburg, Kansas at the Robert W. Plaster Center from March 9-10.

The 4000-meter distance medley relay, including Alexander Demeule (Merrimac, Massachusetts/Pentucket Regional), Stephen Vercollone (Pembroke, Massachusetts/Pembroke), Lucas Taxter (Readville, Massachusetts/Xaverian Brothers), and Hampton Boyd (Holliston, Massachusetts/Holliston) clocked in a season best 9:57.51 at the NE10 Championships, less than a second behind first-place American International College. The quartet earned All-Conference honors for the first time since 2013 with the second-place finish.

Demeule ran the 1200-meter opening leg in 3:04.59, followed by Boyd completing the 400-meter leg in 49.94 seconds, before Vercollone ran the 800-meter leg in 1:52.65 and then Taxter finished the mile anchor in 4:10.34. Joshua Hubbell (Glouceter, Massachusetts/St. John's Prep) will be taking the 400-meter leg, as he has clocked in a season best 52.24.
