USTFCCCA All-East Region Winners for Division II announcement

EASTON, Mass. (May 19, 2016) – Ten members of the Stonehill College men's track and field program have earned All-East Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the outdoor season the coaches' association announced this week. The awards recognize each region's top five performers in individual events and top three teams in relay events.

Senior thrower Mason Griffin (Wellesley, Massachusetts/Wellesley) leads the group with the third All-East Region award of his career in the shot put after his All-New England and NCAA Division II Championships provisional qualifying throw of 52-feet, 7.5-inches at the New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend, breaking his own school record, while junior All-American Matt Baldasare (Mansfield, Massachusetts/Mansfield) earns the seventh All-Region award of his career as part of Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay which posted a season-best time of 3:20.08 in posting a second place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships to also earn All-Conference honors for the event on May 7.

Also earning All-Region honors were junior Joe Santo (Newburyport, Massachusetts/Newburyport) in the 10,000-meter run, sophomores Anthony Innamorati (Clinton, Massachusetts/Clinton) and Dillon Neumann (Harwinton, Connecticut/Lewis Mills) for the pole vault, Patrick Ahern (Charlotte, North Carolina/Providence Country Day) and Ruddy Severino (Methuen, Massachusetts/Methuen) with the 4x400 relay and Mark Hamalian (West Bridgewater, Massachusetts/Bridgewater-Raynham) for the decathlon, with freshman Daniel Madsen (West Haven, Connecticut/Notre Dame-West Haven) rounding out the 4x400 relay honorees and classmate Lucas Taxter (Readville, Massachusetts/Xaverian Brothers) collecting the honors in the 1500-meter run.

Innamorati collects All-East Region honors for the fourth time in his career with his second outdoor award. He cleared a school-record matching height of 15-feet, 5-inches in the pole vault at the New England Championships last Friday for his best vault of the season to earn All-New England honors for the event. Neumann earns All-Region honors for the third time in the pole vault, marking his second straight outdoor performance, after clearing a personal-best height of 13-feet, 11.25-inches at the Skyhawk Invitational on April 30.

Santo and Hamalian earn All-Region honors for the second time in their careers after also receiving the honors during the indoor season.
