Men's Track & Field Competes at BU Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. (February 13, 2016) – The Stonehill College men's track & field program competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University, at the BU Track & Tennis Center today.

Sophomore Anthony Innamorati (Clinton, Massachusetts/Clinton) led solid performances from Stonehill's field athletes by finishing 12th out of 31 competitors in the pole vault with a height of 14-feet, 9-inches, good for second among non-Division I entries. Senior Mason Griffin (Wellesley, Massachusetts/Wellesley) placed 14th out of 46 entries in the shot put with a distance of 45-feet, 3.00-inches, ranking fourth among non-Division I throwers and second among Division II athletes.

Junior All-American Matt Baldasare (Mansfield, Massachusetts/Mansfield) paced Stonehill's track athletes by placing 67th out of 195 entries in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.93-seconds. Freshman David Lockhart (Stoughton, Massachusetts/Stoughton) finished 24th out of 84 runners in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:30.14.

Sophomore Stefan Balestra (Lincoln, Rhode Island/Lincoln) placed 21st out of 38 entries in the weight throw with a distance of 46-feet, 9.50-inches, good for fourth among non-Division I athletes in the event. 

Senior Robert Massey (Chelmsford, Massachusetts/Chelmsford) took 56th place out of 320 entries in the one mile run in 4:13.84. 

Freshman Joe Connolly (Wilmington, Massachusetts/Austin Prep) finished 60th out of 211 entries in the 200-meter dash with his time of 22.41-seconds. 

Sophomore Jason Dimmick (Sutton, Massachusetts/Sutton) placed 62nd out of 247 entries in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.01. Junior Duncan Burleigh (Hingham, Massachusetts/Hingham) finished 77th in 1:55.71.

Junior Joe Santo (Newburyport, Massachusetts/Newburyport) finished 90th out of 159 runners in the 3000-meter run with his time of 8:40.67. Freshman Lawrence Carney (Lowell, Massachusetts/Lowell) placed 99th in 8:42.05.

Stonehill opens its indoor championship schedule next Saturday when it competes in the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center at 4 p.m.
