Indoor Season

2012-13: NE-10 Commisioner's Honor Roll both semesters. Athletic Director's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). Competed in four meets for the Skyhawks, setting personal records in two of them.  Finished second in the 5000-meter run at UMass Boston Invitational (12/1/12) with a time of 15:16.38. Bested that time for an indoor-best 15:07.69 and a twentieth-place finish at New England Championships (2/23/13). Set a personal best in the 3000m event by coming in second at the URI Sorlien Invitational (1/19) with a time of 8:40.56. Finished fourth at the Northeast-10 Championships (2/16) with a time of 8:42.51. Also saw action on the 4x800m relay team, finishing second at Joe Donahue Games (7:59.94).

2011-12: Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award. Athletic Director's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Both Semesters). Competed in five races for Stonehill throughout the season. Placed fifth overall out of 22 competitors in the 3,000-meter run at the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) Championships (2/18/12) in a personal best time of 8:45.14. Posted a time of 15:23.56 at the New England Championships (2/24/12) for 23rd place overall. Ran a time of 8:45.52 at the Boston University Valentine Invitational (2/11/12) in the 3,000-meter run. Finished second overall at the Tufts Stampede (2/4/12) in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:23.67. Placed ninth overall out of 18 competitors in his season opening race at the University of New Hampshire Tri-Meet (1/21/12) in the on emile run (4:28.96, personal best).

2010-11: NE-10 Commissioner's Fall Honor Roll. Finished seventh overall at the NE-10 championships in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:59.71. Also competed in the 3,000 meter run at the Tufts Stampede running a time of 9:14.55

Outdoor Season

2013: Competed in five meets for Stonehill, setting career bests in two meets. Ran the 1500-meter event in 4:11.99, good for fifteenth at Bridgewater State Bears Invitational (3/23). Bested that mark with a career-best 4:03.54 time at Skyhawk Invitational, good for fourteenth at the meet. Set a personal record with a 14:52.63 run in the 5000m event at the Duke Invitational (4/6), finishing seventh. Captured ninth in the Northeast-10 at the Conference Championships (5/4) in the 5000m with a time of 15:19.42. Ran the same race in 15:16.00 at the New England Championships (5/11), good for fourteenth place.

2012: Competed in two meets during the Skyhawk's spring season. Took 12th/17 in the Skyhawk Invitational 5,000m, with a time of 15:32:36. Placed 6th/28 in the Brown Springtime Invitational 1500m, in 4:04.80.

2011: Athletic Director's Honor Roll Spring Semester. NE-10 Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll. Ran his season-best time of 15:30.19 at the Larry Ellis Invitational in the 5,000 meters. Finished sixth overall in the NE-10 championships in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:37.02. Also ran the 5,000 meters at Bridgewater State University (17:25.70). Competed in the 1,500 meters three times during the season highlighted by a 4:06.43 time at the Skyhawk Invitational. Ran a time of 9:32.76 in the two mile run at the George Davis Invitational. Competed in the 4x800 with a split of 2:07.0 at the Skyhawk Invitational.

High School: 2010 graduate of Bishop Guertin High School. Letterwinner in cross country and indoor and outdoor track. Member of two-time state champion cross country team and Class L champion outdoor track team.

Personal: Born September 3, 1992, Pelham, N.H. Son of Tom and Liz Fontanella of Pelham. Two brothers, Austin (21), who currently plays baseball at Emerson College, and Clint (12). Member of the Edwin H. Sutherland Honor Society and the Spi Chi Honor Society.
