Indoor Season

2011-12: Athletic Director's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll (Fall Semester). Did not compete during the season.

2010-11: Finished ninth overall at the NE-10 championships in the shot put with a throw of 42-feet and 6.25-inces. Posted a career best throw of 44-feet and 4.75-inches in the shot put at the University of New Hampshire Tri-Meet placing sixth overall. Placed 24th overall in the weight throw with a toss of 39-feet and eighth-inches at the Tufts Stampede. Also posted a throw of 39-feet and 2.25-inches in the shot put at the Jay Carisella Invitational.

2009-10 Personal Bests:
Shot Put: 12.75m at the NE-10 Conference championships, February 18, 2010.

Outdoor Season

2010-11: Set a new school record in the javelin with a throw of 196'2" (59.79m) on March 26, 2011 at the Bridgewater State University (BSU) Invitational eclipsing Tom Kilby's (Fall River, Mass./BMC Durfee) record of 190 feet which was set on March 28, 2009 at the Bryant University Invitational. Posted five other top-10 finishes in the javelin during the outdoor season including a first place finish at the Skyhawk Invitational with a throw of 179-feet and eight-inches. Took second place overall at the NE-10 championships with a throw of 183-feet and four-inches in the javelin. Placed 12th overall at New England's in the javelin (179-feet and 10-inches). Competed four times during the season in the hammer throw with his best performance coming at the UMass Minutemen Invitational (121-feet and two-inches). Also posted a 10th place finish overall in the hammer throw at the BSU Invitational with a toss of 34.82m. Placed 11th overall at the NE-10 championships in the shot put with a throw of 39-feet and 10.50-inches. Competed in the discuss once at the Skyhawk Invitational with a throw of 118-feet and six-inches.

High School: 2009 graduate of Greenwich High School. Three-year letterwinner for coach Bill Mongovan, serving as captain senior year. Earned All-Conference First Team for shot put, 47'9" and the javelin, 164'4". Two-time MVP.

Personal: Born on August 5, 1991 in Greenwich, Conn. Son of David and Jane Gelcius of Greenwich, Conn. Has one brother, Robert (15). His father, David, played soccer at St. Peters College. Supports the New York Mets. Lists David Wright as favorite athlete.
