Thomas posts fourth double-winning performance, while Morse, Hanlon, Johnson, Penney and 4x800 relay team also victorious

Sophomore All-American Corey Thomas (Brookline, Mass./BC High) was a double-winner for the third-straight week and fourth time in five meets overall this winter to lead a list of seven event winners for Stonehill. Thomas opened with a first place finish in the 60-meter high hurdles with a time of 8.17-seconds – 0.33-seconds faster than the second place finisher. He qualified first for the final with a time of 8.33-secods in the preliminary rounds. Freshman Xavier Harris-Dixon (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) was third in the final in 8.56-seconds after qualifying seventh in 8.71.

Thomas, ranked first nationally in Division II for the high jump, won the event for the fifth time in as many meets this winter by clearing 6-feet, 7-inches.

Senior Nathan Morse (Whitinsville, Mass./Holy Name) won the 600-meter run with a school-record time of 1:22.07, qualifying for the New England Championships later this month. He broke the school record of 1:22.87 set by Derek Hebert at the same event in 2007. Sophomore Daniel Padilla (Bronx, N.Y./Mount Saint Michael Academy) placed 19^th (out of 33 runners) in 1:28.46.

Morse was also a part of Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay team that placed second with a time of 3:26.68, getting edged by The College of Saint Rose by just 0.43-seconds. Also running legs for the Skyhawks were juniors John Driscoll (Revere, Mass./Revere) and Pak Lul (Portland, Maine/North Yarmouth Academy) and sophomore Michael Miela (Foothill Ranch, Calif./Trabuco Hills).

Junior Daniel Kincade (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) placed second (out of 36 competitors) in the weight throw with a school-record toss of 51-feet, 10.50-inches. He broke his own school record of 49-07.75 set last weekend at the Reebok Boston Collegiate Indoor Games.

Sophomore Ethan Penney (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill) led a dominant Stonehill effort in the 5000-meter run with a first place finish as the Skyhawks took five of the top seven spots in the field of 23 runners. Penney finished in 15:16.59, while senior Zachary Lankow (Saugus, Mass./St. John's Prep) was second in 15:25.58. Junior Corey Donahoe (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) was fourth (15:38.63), with freshmen Paul Cina (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) and Stephen Leonard (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) finishing sixth (15:47.56) and seventh (15:49.65), respectively.

Sophomore Sean Hanlon (Georgetown, Mass./St. John's Prep) won the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:32.48. Senior Daniel Pilz (Newington, Conn./Newington) was fourth (out of the 33 competitors) in 2:34.74.

Hanlon and Pilz were also part of Stonehill's 4x800-meter relay team that took first place with a time of 8:10.20, outpacing the field by over six and a half seconds. Also running legs for the Skyhawks were sophomore Samuel Spencer (Seekonk, Mass./Seekonk) and freshman Justin Blaszczyk (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown).

Sophomore Tim Johnson (Thomaston, Conn./Thomaston) won the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:56.20 to pace the field of 39 runners. Freshman Nathaniel Webber (Atkinson, N.H./Central Catholic) was ninth in 9:10.18, while classmate Trent Fontanella (Pelham, N.H./Bishop Guertin) finished 11^th in 9:14.55.

Senior Dan Kincade broke the school record in the weight throw for the second-straight week.

Senior Patrick Fullerton (Bradford, Mass./Haverhill) placed second (out of 46 competitors) in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.08. Samuel Spencer was fourth in 1:58.68, while Pak Lul finished eighth in 1:59.90.

Senior Daniel Newton (Reading, Mass./Reading Memorial) finished third in the shot put with a throw of 45-feet, 1.75-inches. His longest throw tied for the second longest of the day, but placed third with his second-longest distance of 13.41-meters. Senior Patrick Fanning (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) was seventh (out of 34 competitors in the event) with a distance of 44-00.00, while sophomore John Gelcius (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) placed 13^th at 41-01.50.

Fanning was also 20^th in the weight throw with a distance of 40-feet, 10.50 inches, while Gelcius was 24^th (out of 36) at 39-08.00.

Junior Stephen Polito (Worcester, Mass./Doherty Memorial) finished fourth (out of 52 competitors) in the mile run with a time of 4:21.45-seconds. Senior Daniel Fidler (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) was sixth in 4:23.51, while Justin Blaszczyk placed 13^th in 4:29.57.

Sophomore Kevin McCann (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) was fifth in the pole vault with a height of 13-feet, 11.25-inches.

Sophomore Colin Prior (Georgetown, Mass./St. John's Prep) placed sixth (out of 42 runners) in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.87-seconds. John Driscoll (Revere, Mass./Revere) was 12^th in 52.62-seconds, while sophomore Michael Miela (Foothill Ranch, Calif./Trabuco Hills) finished 22^nd in 53.94.

Freshman George Georgaklis (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) was eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 41-feet, 9.25-inches. Sophomore Brandon Dunham (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) was 17^th at 38-05.00, while freshman Alex Willgoos (Newington, Conn./Newington) placed 18^th at 37-10.00.

Dunham also placed 12^th in the long jump with a leap of 18-feet, 11.25-inches, while Willgoos was 13^th with a distance of 18-09.75.

Freshman Michael Harris (Danvers, Mass./Danvers) placed tenth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.289-seconds, missing out on the final by a mere 0.005-seconds. He was also 19^th (out of 57 runners) in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.04-seconds.
