Skyhawks Garner Three Top Ten Finishes At Valentine Invitational

Boston, Mass. - The Skyhawks recorded three top eight finishes at the Valentine Invitational on Saturday, including a fourth place performance by Joe D'Agostino (Canton, Mass.) in the high jump.

D'Agostino had the highest finish of any Skyhawk with his 6'4" jump in the high jump on Saturday.  Also impressing for Stonehill was freshman Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine), who took 8th place in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.91 seconds, finishing five hundredths of a second off the school record.  Torry Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) ran well, taking 8th place in the 55 meter dash (6.50) and finishing 16th in the 200 meters.

Also taking a top 20 finish was Mark Porcaro (Medfield, Mass.), who placed 19th in the 500 meters with an time of 1:05.44, the second fastest time in school history.  With the run he also qualified for the New England Championships. In the one mile Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) finished in a time of 4:11.73 while teammate Daniel Pilz (Newington, Conn.) finished in a career best 4:14.62, good for 17th and 20th respectively and earning a trip to the New England Championships.
