Skyhawks Finish Third At NE-10 Championships

Lowell, Mass. - The Stonehill men's track and field squad used nine top two finishes to take third in the NE-10 Championships hosted by UMass-Lowell on Saturday. 

Sophomore Dan Pilz (Newington, Conn.) provisionally qualified for nationals with his performance in the steeple chase, winning the event in a time of 32:46.23. Also provisionally qualifying was senior Tyler Guilmette (East Longmeadow, Mass.) who broke his own school record in the long jump with a distance of 23'7.5". 

Freshman Steve Polito (Worcester, Mass.) won the 10,000 meters in a time of 32:46.23 while Joe D'Agostino (Canton, Mass.) was the fourth Skyhawk to win their event, taking the high jump with jump of 6'6". 

Senior Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) was a man of many talents on Saturday, claiming second place in both the 100 (10.72) and 200 (22.18) and helping Stonehill's 4x100 relay to a second place finish (43.47).  Joining Price on the 4x100 relay was Guilmette, John Driscoll (Revere, Mass.), and freshman Stephan Neville (Foxborough, Mass.).

Sophomore Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.) took second in the 800 with a time of 1:55.00 and senior Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Mass.) rounded out the top two performances with a second place finish in the 5,000 meters (15:20.20).
