Seniors Shine On First Day Of New Englands
Amherst, Mass. - Senior Matt Meagher (Mansfield, Mass.) and Tyler Guilmette (East, Longmeadow, Mass.) led the Skyhawks on the first full day of competition at the New England Championships held at UMass-Amherst on Friday.
Meagher, seeded ninth in the 10000 meters to begin, finished third in the event with a time of 31:57.84 earning All-New England honors in the process.
Guilmette also earned All-New England honors as he finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 22 feet, eight inches.
Senior Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) advanced to tomorrow finals in both the 100 and 200 meter dash with his performances. Price finished in the prelims of the 100 and first in the 200.
