New Haven, Conn. - The Stonehill men's track and field team used three first place and more than ten top three finishes to take second place at the Northeast-10 Championships held Saturday at Southern Connecticut State. 

Winning their event was junior Joe D'Agostino (Canton, Mass), who went 6'6.75" in the high jump, while the Distance Medley Relay Team of Kevin Gill (Brockton, Mass.), John Driscoll (Revere, Mass.), Nick Campbell (Mansfield, Mass.) and Josh Andrews (Chelmsford, Mass.) held of the UMass-Lowell squad by .17 seconds for the victory.  Andrews also took first place in the one mile run, finishing in 4:22.84, while Gill placed second the 800 with a time of 1.59.01.  

Freshman Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine), broke his school record in the triple jump, finishing second with his jump of 45'1.50".  The freshman also took fourth in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 7.98 seconds. 

In other field events, the Skyhawk tandem of Pat Fanning (Rockland, Mass.) and Dan Newton (Reading, Mass.), took second and third respectively in shot put, while freshman Dan Kincade (Brookfield, Conn.) placed third in the weight throw with his school record toss of. 

Senior Torrey Price (Sleepy Hollow, N.Y.) finished second in the 55 meter dash in 6.41 seconds, while also taking third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.57. Also running well in the track events was sophomore Ben Rumery (Dayton, Maine) who placed third in the 800 as senior Mark Porcaro (Medfield, Mass.) finished third in the 500 with a time of 1:06.92 

The Skyhawks finished second to the Southern Connecticut with 129 but took down UMass-Lowell for the runner up finish.  Stonehill returns to action next week when many athletes will take part in the New Championships next weekend, February 28 and 29.
